A WINNER IS NO ONE

I've been thinking about divising an ILB broadcaster/commentator poll. Categories like charisma, coherence, sense of humor, etc.

Please include:

Jon Miller
Duane Kuiper
Mike Krukow

Morgan. At least he has the occassional insight. McCarver's a waste of space. Lyons, to be honest though, was worse than either of them.

Hmm, I like all three of these guys a lot more than Morgan or Timmy, especially Miller.

I prefer Morgan to Timmy Mac if for no other reason but that he talks less frequently, and more quietly.

I'm fairly content with the O'Brien/Sutcliffe commentary on ESPN. They can be easily ignored if you're so inclined, unlike the two blowhards in the thread title who can only be drowned out by using the mute button.

The FOX broadcast is so completely awful in every way that it makes Morgan's "back in my day"ism seem quaint by comparison.

I'm waiting for someone to mention Joe Morgan's good friends King Kelly and Ray Chapman.

I wish there was a way to mute the broadcasters but not the crowd noises etc.

Oh god Sutcliffe is just abominable.

Jon Miller on the other hand is perceptive, gentle, knowledgable and quick on his feet.

they gotta fix that radio/TV delay

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 25 October 2006 18:18 (nineteen years ago)

In the future, we will be able to mute Morgan and listen to Miller.

Miller: "Check swing by Pujols. He did not go around."

(five seconds of no talking)

Miller: "As the slow motion replay indicates, the call was indeed the right one."

(eight seconds of no talking)

Miller: "Oh? I thought slow motion was the best possible way to determine whether or not the batter goes past a check swing."

(50 seconds of no talking)

Miller: "Hmm... Meanwhile, Pujols has flown out to center."

not that this helps for the WS, but i thought i heard that for some mlb.tv games you could set the sound for english, spanish, or crowd noise only. god that would be fucking great if technology finally got there for all games. i'd pay extra for it.
