― Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 19:10 (eighteen years ago)

― Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 17 October 2007 19:11 (eighteen years ago)
Is this a NO?
There's a sports bar on 5th Ave in Pk Slope? does that work? (see this week's Voice best-of, or I'll look it up later)

lighthouse is supposed to be a red sox bar right?
― mizzell, Friday, 19 October 2007 15:54 (eighteen years ago)
Voice dsn't mention that
― Dr Morbius, Friday, 19 October 2007 16:01 (eighteen years ago)
from redsoxconnection.com Brooklyn Lighthouse Tavern 243 5th Ave. 718-788-8070 Located in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn, they have Harpoon IPA, Honkers Ale, and other good beers on tap. The place is small, friendly and usually not crowded. They have the MLB package and often show the Red Sox on one or two of the 5 TVs, plus the bartender Shane is a Southie boy.
― mizzell, Friday, 19 October 2007 16:11 (eighteen years ago)
though lighthouses website is less convincing Go Yanks and Mets! See the Cubs, Tigers, Orioles... all your favorites! We've even got a Red Sox crowd!
― mizzell, Friday, 19 October 2007 16:13 (eighteen years ago)
small and "not crowded" less likely on Sat, of course

morbs i am fantasizing :( i am not around
my only public baseball watchin opportunity in london is at a horrible, multi-level shout-cage called "the sports bar", one block from picadilly circus
― Tracer Hand, Friday, 19 October 2007 17:31 (eighteen years ago)
bah, no fantasy baseball on FAP thread
― Dr Morbius, Friday, 19 October 2007 17:39 (eighteen years ago)
haha, sports bar is terrible. does have free entry before whenever and a late license.
morbs if you're on fifth ave and i'm not passed out i will stop by. has riviera been considered for crying sox fan lols? place is kind of rapey tho.
― sanskrit, Friday, 19 October 2007 18:35 (eighteen years ago)
I'm rooting for Cleve so didn't consider Riviera. which one is terrible?
― Dr Morbius, Friday, 19 October 2007 18:43 (eighteen years ago)
oh i meant the american sports bar in london tracer is referencing. i'll try to duck my head into the lighthouse in the late innings.
― sanskrit, Saturday, 20 October 2007 15:17 (eighteen years ago)
well, I don't wanna drag just you out for a few innings, skrit. If there is Game 7 on Sunday, I may just wind up at the Gate with a Red Sox fan. Let's see if there's more enthusiasm for the Series...
― Dr Morbius, Saturday, 20 October 2007 16:00 (eighteen years ago)
sorry, i'd have done this but haven't been reading
― mookieproof, Monday, 22 October 2007 14:36 (eighteen years ago)

― Dr Morbius, Monday, 22 October 2007 14:40 (eighteen years ago)

― Dr Morbius, Thursday, 25 October 2007 15:26 (eighteen years ago)

― mookieproof, Thursday, 25 October 2007 16:26 (eighteen years ago)
well, we have all weekend to figure out 1) if there's Game 5; 2) where in Brooklyn to have it (should be easy if it's just me & mook).
― Dr Morbius, Friday, 26 October 2007 18:51 (eighteen years ago)
oh sorry never saw thread update. game 1 would have worked. game 5 sounds good.
― sanskrit, Friday, 26 October 2007 20:46 (eighteen years ago)

― gabbneb, Monday, 29 October 2007 14:40 (eighteen years ago)
who is that troll?
Gioven my relative disinterest in this Series, I proposed Game 5 quite intentionally so we would't be stuck drinking thru Game 4 of a sweep.
We'll have to watch something meaningless next summer ... the All-Star Game, perhaps.
