Port - Melbourne better than expected but so are Port. Their good players are better and more consistent than the Whites and Johnstones of this world
Bris - not game to pick against them. WC have one of the few midfields in the comp to match them but their lack of good height (no Gards or Jako) will be telling
Adel - St K due to come down. They looked bored at times v Rich, always a bit worrying, they lost heavily at the tribunal, their record at the Adelaide Amphitheatre of Massed Idiocy is dreadful (their only two wins each came in the home team's first year in the AFL, in the week after the locals' finals hopes went west)
Geel - in the battle of not much chop v no chop at all
Roos - although Sydney have more potential to improve
Freo - never lose at home. Collingwood just not producing for long enough at a time. But don't fall for 'no Buckley no Collingwood'
Hawks - neither team inspires much at the mo but if Hawthorn don't beat the Bullies their 2004 may already be cactus

Port - Melbourne will take it up to them but I disagree that they were all that impressive against the Bulldogs. If Port get a run on like the Dogs did late in the second quarter last week then they won't be stopping at four. Port by 33 points.
Brisbane - Egirls are gone. Loss of Gardiner is catastrophic. Lynch is out but Bradshaw's a pretty handy replacement there. Brisbane by 40 points.
Swannies - They match up well on the Roos and O'Loughlin is back. There's no one in that Roos line up to tame Goodes and they fell over the line against Carlton who haven't beaten a league strength side all season. Sydney by 20 points.
Fremantle - Yeah Fred, they never lose at home but in fact this one's at the Domeass. Freo has actually beaten Collingwood at this venue and with Tarrant out that could free up a Pavlich to cause some real headaches, as will Medhurst who was poo against the Cows last week. I reckon Buckley will miss because they'll want him fresh for the ANZAC match next week. Fremantle by 41 points.
Adelaide - the toughest match of the round with no Hart and no Goodwin for the crows but no Baker and no Hamil for the Saints. St Kilda's record without Hamil is crap and it makes it easier for the Cows to cover their attacking options. Cows for mine at home, especially with a very satisfied St Kilda coming off the five day break. Adelaide by 22 points.
Geelong - when Milburn returned last week it made a big difference and this week no less than three experienced players return at time when Richmond not only have no Richo but no Stafford as well. If Ottens goes into ruck then our defence will blot out the Tigers attack. Pretty happy that Rodan is left out also because he played well against us last time. Again, the five day break will hinder Richmond IMO. Geelong by 31 points.
Hawthorn - even if Rawlings and Grant play the Hawks look like a good thing now that Crawf has got off, although they will miss Spider. The Dogs are like the Cats, they just don't know how to win. They get into a good position and then the short passing shite starts again. The Hawks to win because they simply must. Hawthorn by 7 points.
regards,
REB
