Hawks miserable again

Everytime I see Goldsponk umpire, I shiver. Must be from 2001 finals. He has always been very very ordinary.

It was all summed up by in the 3rd qtr when Brisy's no.9 (McGrath?) was tackled in the square (after having an opportunity to get rid of it), he put the ball on the ground and magically got a foot on it and kicked a goal. I thought if you where tackled and placed/dropped the ball on the ground it should be a free kick? ... but I would have taken it. :)

Must admit the umpiring did pick up a bit in the second half when they payed less soft free kicks. Lynch must surely have replaced Lloyd as the king of getting them.
Not writing us off just yet though. We have Richmond next week. Could we possibly stuff that up somehow? We'll see.

Richmond? You blokes are in trouble.

Somehow, I feel the Tigers will conjure a win out of the debacle they are currently going through....

If the umpires can conjure up a seven goal lead to half time then I reckon Geelong should get em down to Cat park to prop up our forward line. I read somewhere that there are a lot of Hawks fans in the media who pump up the Hawks pre-season every year only for them to fall flat on their boat races once battle begins. Interesting theory that.

What I was getting at tho Hawka, was that it's no use blaming the umpires for the Gabbatoir effort. Does Smith ever kick in the directon of the goals? Since when has Shane Crawford stopped his second efforts of last year? Does Schwab ever make a second move in a game or is one his limit?

These are just some of the questions I'd be asking instead of questions everybody knows the answer to i.e. is Goldspink a shit umpire?

regards,

REB

Didn't their coach say they would win the flag this year?

You're quoting Schwabby Chrisso...

At least I knew the pies would be poo this year and not pretend that they were anything but.

Swap you..... um Rhyce Shaw for your 168th draft pick?

ps -I didn't see todays game, I ran a two up ring instead. Now THAT is doing it for the diggers!

I don't think Schwab actually baldly said 'Hawthorn will win this years flag' but he may have stated it as his aim. Which of course is garbage, we all know Peter is only coaching Hawthorn these days because he needs something to do to get himself out of the house Sat afternoons.

A bit like in 1992 Terry Wheeler saying his team (on top of the ladder at the time, into the last month of the H & H) was probably flag favorite. The idiot Press massacred him. And doubtless a week later went back to whinging about coaches mumbling about 'a week at a time'.

It's all very well journos bunking up their own team, but personally I wish Carlton had a supporter in the media like Rohan Connolly who dishes out the 'tactical bag' to fire his own team (Ess) up. Bob Davis wasn't bad at that caper either.

Any team that actually re-recruits someone like Croad is destined to fail dismally

Fred, he actually stated at a members meeting they would win the premiership which was followed by laughter and then a quick qualification
