I'd have Ablett as my #1, Carey #2 and Voss and Hird as equal 3rd.

That's funny - I saw Bucks get a heap of votes, but not a single vote to Scott Burns. There must be a mistake somewhere...

1. King Carey
2. M Voss
3. J Hird

Honourable mentions
Ablett, Paul Kelly, Buckey, Robert Harvey, Plugger Lockett, Andrew McLeod

In 10 Years time, you will add these names to whatever list of champions...

Nick Reiwoldt, Jono Brown, Lenny Hayes, Tadgh Kenelly, Chris Judd, Daniel Wells

What was Dermott threatened/bribed with to stop him voting for himself?

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 02:54 (twenty-two years ago)

No, they ignored Dermots No1 vote for himself.

Somehow he thought he could sneak himself on to the list in 1st (Hawks), 3rd (Swans) and 5th (Pies) places as the greatest footballer of all time for his time at each club...

How do you confuse a T** F**** S*** watcher?

Show him an axe and a shovel and tell him he can take his pick.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Thursday, 29 April 2004 03:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I like Rodney Eade's list the best, except I'd swap Voss for Carey.

Voss is a better leader and more consistant contributor to his sides effort each week and he will not have two season's like Wayne Carey's 2003/2004.

As I've said many times, if Voss had played for Essendon/Carlton they would have built 5 statues of him by now and half the boys under the age of 10 in Victoria would be called Michael.

And I object to the list, no ruckmen or backmen (com'n Benno you should of said something earlier) I'm sure Silvagni's versatility got him on the list, must of played up forward at some stage in at least 25% of his games.

Big Bird (Big Bird), Thursday, 29 April 2004 03:36 (twenty-two years ago)

1. Voss
2. Carey
3. Ablett
4. Matthews, L
5. Hird
6. Dunstall
7. Lockett
8. Matera, Peter
9. Silvagni
10. Harvey

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Thursday, 29 April 2004 04:00 (twenty-two years ago)

As a forward in important matches Silvagni made a good full back. His career scoring record in finals was something like 2 goals 15 behinds.

SOS gets in because he was the best full-back of his generation by a country mile, although both Southby and Dench still have him covered for the 'all-time' tag.

You want great backmen of the last 10 years - Ashley McIntosh and Jakovich, until their bodies gave it away and they played 5 years past their prime...

Glenn Archer, Justin Leppitsch, Paul Roos...
