and you should be. but get with the program and play home games at Shell/Baytec/Skilled/Kardinia Park instead of Telstra...

Bennö (Bennö), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 02:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Good on ya REB. Loud and proud brother - LOUD AND PROUD.

Was working with a mate of mine behind the bar at the footy club on Sunday, listening on 4AAA to the 'Dogs and Carlton game. This bloke is a rabid 'Dogs fan, boy was he stoked, burst into club song too.

Big Bird (Big Bird), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 02:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Come off it Benno. 51,000 is a pretty tight squeeze at Cat Park. We don't all have our own football show you know...

regards,

REB

REB,

you going sunday?

jsa, Tuesday, 25 May 2004 02:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Congrats REB - you're boys played well. I'm surprised you only put the first line of your song here, why not the whole lot?

:D

If I can afford it I will go Jase. I reckon it will be a top game with Port getting a few back. The word in Catland is that 'honourable' losses interstate are no longer good enough. I think the current Geelong group look at recent challenges as opportunities to tackle the best which is a good attitude to go in with.

Port will be hard to beat on their own deck that's for sure.

REB

Well one things for sure you wont have trouble getting a ticket.

Will be a real close game, physical as well. We might lose a few players as well, even if burgoyne gets off he wont play wouldnt have played last week except wangas was injured

The fact that its the champs 300th should be enough to get us over the line, i hope anyway.

jsa, Tuesday, 25 May 2004 05:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I remember watching Wanganeen running around for the Pies when he was but a sliver of a lad. All I could think was 'where do Port get these bloody kids from' and the answer was obvious...straight from Centrals...

LOL

REB

Who started this stupid thread?:-)

Well done Catters, I won't be underestimating you again. Bigger things await.

chrisso (chrisso), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 08:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Chrisso I wouldn't be too upset, you're boy is back in this week I hear!

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 21:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought they were playing the Dockers, not the Lions :P

Yep, Lucy, it will be good to have our skip back, but he wasn't the reason we lost on Saturday. When you have so many skill errors and your 'spine' plays their worst(collectively) game for the year and the opposition are playing as well as the Cats played on Saturday, you are in trouble. Without Hird we can't afford to have Lucas, Lloyd and Fletcher all having a shocker.

chrisso (chrisso), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 05:00 (twenty-two years ago)

soooooo close. the years of ordinary-ness may pay off this year. Although they still won;t make the Pre-Lim final weekend! :P

Bennö (Bennö), Sunday, 30 May 2004 09:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Firmly believe Geelong deserved to win this one. They played well REB.

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Sunday, 30 May 2004 22:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Not a bad day out at Girlee stadium yesterday, despite the loss. It was a fantastic game of football, the best I have seen live for many years. Beating Port at the park is a tough ask and their third quarter was one out of the box. I couldn't believe the side running around in front of me was (almost) the same outfit that was flogged by the Roos the other week.

A good reaction from the Port fans too with 99% being friendly and willing to talk footy with the all too rare opposition supporter. After we hit rock bottom in Round two the Cats made a pact to be 'diffucult to play against' and even though we didn't come home with the points we certainly weren't easybeats like the Tigers the week before and it seems we've left the handbags to picked up by the boys from Glenfairy oval.

Well played the Power.

REB

ps - oh yeah. Power fans are real supporters who cheer their team on. 30,000 Power fans make more noise than 44,00 Crows fans any day.

Agree REB was the best game ive seen live this year, real physical contest and prolly a game that geelong burnt, judging by the fitness of some of our players at the end we were lucky.

Roger James is the most underated footballer in the comp.

""Roger James is the most underated footballer in the comp.

Who is he underated by jsa, I think he's probably one of your best.

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Monday, 31 May 2004 06:41 (twenty-two years ago)

But Lucy, we all know your judgement is somewhat deluded...

:P

Bennö (Bennö), Monday, 31 May 2004 11:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes Benno, but I'm very very happy in my delusion.
