Five Lions reserve grade players and 17 Sunshine Coast under 18's took on and beat Labrador by 3 goals in one of the most uninspiring games of footy you would ever see. Laaane was not a stand out and was a tad lazy in his positional play and the need to run to get there, contested about 25 marks for about 1 grab. Not great form to take into a your first game, especially against Jeff White et al.
If he is picked I think it would be the first sign of deparation in the camp. The kids not 19 yet and will still need the work to come up to his potential.

No.
Surprised to see Pike was dropped. What's going on up there?

I know, I know, but when you live in Sydney you take what you can get.

SCENE: Some time round 1992. Launch of Channel 10's 'innovative new' sports nightly new service and its 'bright young expert' presenter, Tim Webster.
Channel 10 exec: "We will not be relying on personalities to win this ratings war with 7 and 9."
Ross Warneke/Garry Mansfield/Debbie Enker/(newspaper TV critic of your choice): "Why not?"
10 exec: "Because Webster hasn't got one."
