Pity ayres pretty hard to work with reid and criag kniving you in the back, but in saying that he was a crap coach, i would have liked him to stay so the crows would be crap for a few more years.

After the recent failed performances of Carlton, Adelaide and a few others the "top up the list" approach will now be gone forever and all clubs will be prepared to go with a "youth draft" as the best way back to the top.

Richmond will still try it, Bird.

Amazed to see the news here in the West.

Immediate speculation on the new coach. Guess who was rolled out?

Yeh right!! Eades and Wallace with Craig also mentioned.

Can't these media clowns see that they are yesterday's men.

Clubs want youth in their team and a fresh approach in the box.

Sheeesh!!

A real good point there, BB. Some of these players getting a bit long in the tooth and not really putting in the big performances, are going to start looking over their shoulders.

I don't think that it will be a case of moving to another team at big salaries any more as clubs look to tighten the belt and recruit for the future.

The few really good youngsters coming out of contract(Polak?) are possibly going to command big salaries and the older players will drop money to make way for them or go play in the bush.

I can see some interesting times ahead.

I reckon the scribes might just be right on this one, Westy.

Us Brisbane supporters from the dark old days of Carrara still have a lot of respect for Mark Micken (to whom I bear some resemblance - poor sod!) our first captain and best player for the first three years. Is he mentioned at all REB?

Big Bird (Big Bird), Monday, 21 June 2004 23:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Not at all, Bird. So far the talk is of Craig and Wallace but all sorts of crazy coaching theories are starting to surface now that the Cows have ended the stability drought.

The best one I've heard so far is a straight swap, Choco for Sheedy LOL.

Williams for Sheedy !!!!!! Oh well it keeps people amused I guess.

Can/would Adelaide do a Carlton and go out and sign a current coach that's at the end of their contract, eg. Sheedy or Malthouse or Cornflakes?

Does a club like Adelaide sign first year coaches?

Big Bird (Big Bird), Tuesday, 22 June 2004 04:41 (twenty-two years ago)

The latest on Seven News in Perth is that the Cows are interested in Peter Sumich.

These clowns will go to any length to put a local slant on it.

And, REB, I still think Eades and Wallace are gone. Both walked out on clubs when they were needed.

I reckon it gave the impression that they're not quite there when the going gets tough.

Has to be a factor in any deliberations.

Wait till you read it in the 'Tiser. Aren't they the policy maker at the Cows?

" still think Eades and Wallace are gone. Both walked out on clubs when they were needed"

..Ah, but so did Gary Ayres and they hired him.
