I really dislike the trend of coaches dressed in suits when coaching. It is so americanised - very irritating. For goodness sakes it's sports not a business meeting.

Richmond probably deserve this idiot!

...and what the coach is wearing is an essential element of the message to be imparted to the playing group LOL.....

Have you ever thought that he may have done a function before the match, or he may be doing one after the match? As the Sydney coach Eade had to do a lot of this. Would you prefer that he dressed down for the match? And why is he an idiot? Because he has nothing to do with the Lions maybe?

Hit the nail on the head there I think Susso...

The current crowd can dress as bad as they like, they still won't get within a bulls roar of Barassi's get-up at the 77 GF, or Graeme Teasdale's number at the Brownlow same year.

Well that certainly got some response.

Yes I do think the coach has an impact on the psyche of the players, i.e. I'm in a business suit because I'm going out for lunch or to a function after the game - just where is his priority????

I took an instant dislike to Eade, for no apparent reason, when he was coaching the Swans. His biggest problem - he breathes!!!!

Mark Thompson has nothing to do with the Lions - I like him. John Worsfold is my all time favourite player. Chris Conolly is a breath of fresh air and I really like him. I have nothing against Grant Thomas, dont particularly mind Denis Pagan. I have a lot of respect for Sheedy think he is a mastermind of mind games - in fact sometimes I think he's absolutely mad!!!
LOL

Norm Smith, Ron Barrassi, Jock McHale..suit wearers all...although the theory goes a bit awry once you get to Sheedy, Matthews, Malthouse and Hafey LOL..

Well, why wouldn't you? He is an Essendon premiership captain after all.:-)

Yes, we've forgiven him his past indiscretions. 'Catter' Thompson is now one of the good guys..
