BRIS - Roos will farewell Anthony Stevens with a whole-hearted performance but it's unlikely to be enough (BTW, was last week's effort the last straw for Stevo? Strange he didn't make the announcement before last week's game, so a home crowd could farewell him)

SAINTS - for Freo read comments re Melb. St Kilda need to forget last week's debacle ASAP

PORT - massive danger game but what's really at stake?

ESSENDON - because they're a better team. Expect dark mutterings and moanings about draft choices from the rest of the comp regardless

GEELONG - but not by enough to send Hawthorn back to the bottom

Sydney - Richmond have no pride whatsoever and the Swans have plenty

West Coast - on a roll but D's to bounce back in the finals

Brisbane - Despite being obviously gone (LOL). Too much class for the Roos

Saints - Unbeatable at the DomeAss

Crows - Port looking to next week after getting it wrong in recent years

Essendon - Although the Bullies might provide the upset for those looking to catch up to the jammy leaders of the tipping pool

Geelong - Just my ar5e!

The only game that could have really gone either way was Collingwood vs Carlton. And in the work comp, I was one off the lead of the comp, led by a Carlton supporter... bugger

Yep, we more than likely will. Essendon are having their worst season in nearly a decade yet we still make the finals, so to be honest, I couldn't be happier. Have Carlton left for their end of season trip yet?

But still the worst Carlton sides I've seen in 40 years have a 50% record against the all-conquering 'September Institution' since 2001.

Actually it hasn't got much to do with Essendon or anybody associated with them, not Hird, not Lloyd, not any of the Carlton blokes that are there, not even Sheedy. I don't like Collingwood any more than the average Carlton supporter either, but there isn't a Collingwood supporter on the forum who pulls the outraged self-righteous crap you do whenever somebody has a go at them. There was one on what's left of the old ABC forum and you're sounding like him more with every post.

No I don't. I just call it how I see it. I saw it Essendon's way with the Hawthorn brawl. I saw it your way with the Rama/Montgomery incident. I saw it your way when other people wanted Hird cited over Andrew Thompson, and more your way than not over the Scott McLaren fiasco, and I haven't changed my mind about any of them. And I don't bag Sheedy every time he opens his mouth. Only when he says or does something stupid. Just like Malthouse. Just like Pagan.

I'm not anti-Essendon. I'm just anti-self righteous bullshit (such as that Freo thread) and if more of that comes from Essendon supporters than anywhere else then that's who cops the most back.

Carlton achieved wonders this year with a makeshift team but brilliant spirit amongst the group. Stevens starred, Kouta found form, the side lifted and the kids developed.

The Bombers scrape into the 8 after a tough season - the loss of Misiti and Wellman won't do much for experience, but allow other kids to be kept at the club and not lost.

And neither side will make the 8 in 2005...
