With all of today's media providers and advanced technology, why is today's coverage absolute crap and a poor second to what Channel Seven was showing us ten years ago?
My specific gripe is the absurd camera angles foisted apon us by the gizzmo happy nerds who call themselves sports broadcasters.
We've had cameras on the roof, cameras in the change rooms, cameras sitting in row Q of the G, cameras in the men' urinal and all we are looking at is the tops of players heads as we strain in vain to actually see where the ball is...except with that last camera LOL.
NOW TAKE NOTE YOU NUMBNUTS DIRECTORS..SOME FREE MARKET SURVEY INFORMATION FOR YOU.
1. WE ARE NOT COACHES - WE DON'T CARE ABOUT THE AERIAL VIEW OF HOW SUCH AND SUCH A SIDE IS ORGANISED AT THE KICK OUTS. WE JUST WANT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS..COMPRENDE AMIGOS??
2. WE WANT TO SEE WHO IS KICKING IT AND WHO IS GOING TO MARK IT. A REVOLUTIONARY CONCEPT OF ERSTWHILE DAYS WAS TO SHOW EVERYTHING SIDE ON. WHO'DA THUNK IT??
3. DOUBLE UP DOUBLE UP. WE'VE GOT THICKHEAD 'SPECIAL COMMENTS' DUDES TO TELL US THE TACTICS, WE DON'T NEED ANY OVERHEAD VISUALS TO FURTHER DRUM IT INTO OUR HEADS. CREDIT US WITH SOME INTELLIGENCE PLEASE.
4. SCRAP SKY CAM. IT IS SHITE. END OF STORY.
5. SCRAP 'FOLLOW CAM' OR WHATEVER YOU CALL IT. GET BACK TO BASICS AND HAVE A LOOK AT MID 90'S COVERAGE AND YOU'LL NOTICE SOMETHING NEW...YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE BALL.
thank you come again,
regards,
REB

Okay i hate ch10 with their finals tv. But you cant really blame the new stations for it. The Bloody cameramen have been declining for a long time now. Get rid of fly and sky cam, they suck. But i like to see from behind the player when he is shooting for goal, so that was the only good bit about sky cam. But theres one thing i never want back in football. Ch.7 and Bruce "Wayne Carey" Mcaveney. With Ch.9 10 and fox footy i know i can see the geelong game pretty much live every week. With channel 7 i was lucky to see it live once every 4 weeks.
