It's official now, Jonathan Brown is the biggest galoot in footy and what a sad way for Lynch to go out - no kicks, no goals and no clue. I don't think we'll be seeing Brisbane in the Grand Final for a while now. Happy days!!!

So much for the unstoppable juggernaut you've been whining about, ad whatever comes after nauseum, all season long. Turns out they're just another tired, decaying team full of yesterday's news. You must feel dead silly letting yourself get so worked up.

Next year it will be "St Kilda are AFL's lovechild. Look at all the high draft picks", "Eagles get the benefit of Judd playing towards his second Charlie", "Collingwood, bleat, bleat."
Will it ever stop?

So you don't think Brisbane has had an unfair advantage? Is that right? In an era of profesional sport where coaches go to the nth degree to find that 1% advantage over the rest of the field, you can't seriously think that $600K has not had a part of Brisbane making the last 4 grannies, you both must dead set have your heads in the sand.
If Essendon were getting an extra $600K the whinning from you, Westy, would be deafening, wouldn't it.

Double standards.
I'm glad you agree with me about Brisbane, though.

Here here.
I don't read the Herald Sun, I don't live in Victoria. I play amateur football and watch the AFL because I love the game - the speed, skill and the spectacle.
The AFL has been praising the virtues of an equal competition for years, and for most they get it right. The draft is good for football (sharing talent around for a more even comp), the salary cap is good for football (preventing big spending clubs buying Premierships).
However, dominance of a competition by the team which gets substantial additional room under its salary cap was NOT good for football.
However, I laugh now, as the dynasty is over. Pre-2001, I used to hate Essendon and Carlton. These days you can throw the Lions in as well, and move them top of my No1 hatred list...
Congratulations to Port for a phenominal effort by local Port ferals, discards and big hearted fellas.
Michael Wilson and Brendan Lade, you are an inspirational pair to come back from horrendous injury. Enjoy the Flag - you will enjoy it!

For once I will resort to your level of incessant "whinning" and try to put it in plain terms.
When Essendon and Richmond and the Westen Bullies as well as others, have to travel the equivalent of the Eagles, Brisbane and Freo. Play regularly each year at York Park in Tassie and Manuka in Canberra, front up every 2nd week to a long road trip, don't get to play regularly at the "Lounge", play the so called "Blockbusters" and regularly get screwed by the MCG Final Deal, then I will listen to your bleating about Brisbane's Salary Cap.
Try this Einstein. If the additional money is the key to success, then how come Sydney are a middle of the road side?
Maybe, just maybe, good player management is the key but that would be lost on you clowns that get it handed to you on a platter every year
If you wonder why every one seems to be against you, then you should, objectively, have a read of some of your own posts and marvel at the bitter and twisted comments that you have made.
And why have you made them? Simple. You can't stand to see anyone else be a success. Fair play is lost on you, mate.
Bet you take your ball home if you don't get a kick.

If you had read my post's you would have seen that I said that this Brisbane team would still have won a couple of flags but I think that the reason they are playing four in a row has a lot to do with the extras they are getting. The Lions orginisation have done well and there is no denying that. After we won the flag in 2000 we had to shed a few players and after three flags the Lions have shed none. Why? I reckon it has a lot to do with the extra money.
When Essendon and Richmond and the Westen Bullies as well as others, have to travel the equivalent of the Eagles, Brisbane and Freo
You idiot. Is it our fault you live on the other side of the world. Let them move to Melbourne if it bothers them. Stupid comment, Westy.Like I said if Essendon were getting extra you'd be crying like a baby.

You have just said it all, chrisso. IF OTHER TEAMS WANT TO PLAY IN OUR COMPETITION, LET THEM MOVE TO MELBOURNE.
You want Brisbane or Port or Freo or the Eagles to be the same as Essendon but you do NOT want Essendon to be the same as them.
You obviously realise that if Essendon were on the same terms as West Coast and Brisbane, Freo and Adelaide, then Essendon would not be able to compete.
The ONLY thing that keeps Essendon, Collingwood and Richmond et al, in the competition is the bias towards the fixtures and uncountable handouts that they receive on an annual basis.
To put it bluntly, without the fixturing and finals bias, the Victorians teams are not in the competition.
OK we cop that we are the new kids on the block and have yet to build a tradition as that which exists within the old VFL. However, the old VFL was seriously sick and needed the $4million license fee from the Eagles(and also whatever Brisbane paid) to survive. Both Adelaides and Fremantle also paid their dues up front. This money has kept the Melbourne based teams viable and in the competition(with the exception of Fitzroy). That is all conveniently forgotten in the rush to now denigrate the achievements of Brisbane, West Coast and Adelaide(and more recently Port).
Recognise the competition for what it's worth, chrisso. National. Perhaps you subscribe to the famous quote in George Orwell's 'Animal Farm':-
"All teams are equal, but some are more equal than others"(Apologies to George Orwell)
I shall not be further drawn into meaningless discussion on this subject.
You have your point of view, I have mine.

Blame the AFL for the finals fiasco, it was their stupidity. Victorian teams not in the comp? LOL. Without the Vic teams there is no comp. Perhaps you'd be happier if the Eagles were playing in the WAFL?
