A bit early to be laughing at the Eagles but I think Connolly is doing a great job of keeping a potential top four side out of harm's way.

Odds? A lot shorter than the odds that are on offer for a Port premiership.

chrisso (chrisso), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 01:36 (twenty-one years ago)

No doubt JSA just like his sub-standard premiership team need to build themselves up a bit for this one!

There you go Westener you wanted some below the belt nasties...

Woosha has commented on local TV News that, after Saturday last, he is not taking the lower placed teams lightly any more.

He expects his players will be switched on this Sunday and not treat the game like a stroll in the park.

Spectators are all being requested to turn out in their Sunday best. Power should not be allowed to feel at home!!!

Woosha has been saying that for a few weeks Westy...something that shouldn't need to be said at all I would have thought. Quite liked the Sunday best line tho :)

Eagles demolish hapless Power

By Luke Pentony

The West Coast Eagles have made up for last weekend's shock defeat to Collingwood, thrashing reigning premiers Port Adelaide by 117 points at Subiaco Oval.

The home side had 16 different goal kickers as they recorded the 27.17 (179) to 9.8 (62) victory over the Power, re-establishing their eight-point lead on top of the AFL ladder.

The Eagles now have nine wins for the season and will surely firm in premiership favouritism on the back of today's result, which was Port Adelaide's worst ever loss in its eight-year history in the AFL.

No comment from this subdued Cat supporter. Freo too good on the day. Like many Melbourne fans I reckon us Cats wish the media would get off Freos back DOH.
