Not content with trying to snaffle Jonathan Brown now they are after Luke Power.

We definitely need him to stay he is a very valuable player. But if we have to lose him to the "go home factor" let it be to the Western Bulldogs so he can play with his brother Sam.

As long as they stay away from Geelong (after all we have no stars) then they can poach who they like. I suggest they start with St Kilda and the West Coast Eagles.

When are all you folks going to realise that the fact, that either a) Collingwood are chasing someone or b) that Collingwood fanboy wank publication known as the Herald Sun report as such, means nothing besides that the player concerned is capable of independant movement (most of the time anyway - remember Graeme Teasdale anyone)?

The standard player contract still seems to be three years. Which means a third of the AFL player pool is out of contract at any one time.

REB from what I've heard both Collingwood and Essendon are targetting not only Lions but Geelong out of contract players.

I believe Luke Power and his long term girlfriend split at the beginning of the year - not sure if she was a Vic and returned home or what.

Why would he want to follow her back to Vic if she was from there.

Better he comes West for a new start. I've got a few daughters that I could tee him up with.

Hopefully Westie one of your lovely daughters is not called Sally.

Because the AFL would have to investigate this under the "sally-cap" regulations.

No stars hey REB? Do you mind if we buy the services of G Ablett Jnr then??? You can have Cheesy O'Bree, Andrew Williams, Neon Leon Davis and Tarkyn Lockyer. I think the deal is fair...

Go talk to St Kilda Benno, that's where the REAL stars are. That's if they can ever get them on the park LOL :)

I'd have Luke Ball first up, then Reiwoldt, and Del Santo if he ever put his head over the ball.

Goddard is a touch soft, and without the smarts of R Harvey, the midfield looks lost.

Bennö (Bennö), Thursday, 26 May 2005 02:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Good points there Benno. I'd rather have unfashionable Ling over the pretty 30 possession games of Dal Santo. I reckon the whole side is lost without Hamil and results of the last two years back that up.

Please answer me why Brisbance should be any different to any other club who has lost star players back home.

They have been given unfair advantages for the last 4 years to keep players. Its an absolute joke

I'm sorry JSA where about's in this thread did I say only Brisbane was entitled to keep players and not have other clubs poach them?

I've long been a supporter of any team with a % of interstate players being given an allowance - than would include Victorian Teams and yes even South Australian team.

Get over yourself JSA!
