Bully-boy living in the past.

BRAD Scott has warned there will be a Brisbane Lions lynching party waiting for Kangaroos skipper Adam Simpson at the Gabba on Saturday night.

Scott said Simpson had riled the Lions with comments he made after Brisbane's shock loss to Hawthorn in mid-April, and they had since been counting down to their Round 10 clash.

His warning came as Kangaroos coach Dean Laidley told his players Saturday night's game was about showing some spirit, and a win would be a bonus.

"I can tell you a lot of guys have been looking forward to this game against the Kangaroos for a long time," Scott said.

"Adam Simpson said a few things after the game against Hawthorn which a few of the boys didn't appreciate. He assumed we went into a game arrogant and got ahead of ourselves, which wasn't the case."

Um, Brad, you've lost your last 4 at home and are have only won 3 games this year. Perhaps you should be worrying about getting a win as you are no longer feared. These bully-boy rantings may have worked in the past but now you are just another struggling team trying to make the 8.

See my comment on this game in the Round 10 thread.

Taking your eye off the ball...

Brisbane lose to the Hawks and start thinking about round 10 because of something Adam Simpson said. Result: Brisbane 3-6 after nine rounds.

Dean Laidley declares after his club's first loss of the season against Adelaide that this was the best the Crows could play but his boys were 'miles away' from their best. Result: Roos lose the next three including a 14 goal loss against a side they usually do well against.

Chris Connolly spits the dummy in truly precious fashion after Terry Wallace had a bit of a crack at the Caffine in the Cadburys jumpers. Result: Freo, after getting some respect with a good win against the Demons at the G fall in a hole to lose their way in spectacular style at home against the gutsy but not especially talented Hawthorn side.

Moral of the story: SHUT THE FUCK UP

I wouldn't tip Brisbane this week against anyone except for the Roos, Freo or Carlton. I guess Scotty is just pouring out the same old lines on a diminishing band of teams that he can actually use them against. Should be an interesting game indeed this week.

regards,

REB

Bloody hell you lot, I would have thought Brad's comments were as obvious as Sheedy saying he's gonna leave Essendon! It's called talking it up. Putting a bit of motivation out there. Maybe it's even to get the supporters yelling.

I reckon - KEEP IT UP SCOTTY!

Thought motivation wasn't meant to be a problem for Brisbane? And I also figured (naively) that a team in Brisbane's position (3-6) wouldn't ever be light on for motivation anyway.

Whoever dug that gem out for Lethal should get a tetanus shot in his nose. Scraping rotten barrels like that can cause very nasty splinters, you never know what was lurking in the base.

Bunging on a turn like that over being called arrogant kinda makes its own point, in the same way as Chopper Read saying he's not violent and he'll smack the crapper out of anybody who says he is.
