firstly we cant win away this year.

Secondly your the stats man, but consider we won a premiership without primus and franco, james for half the year, pickett injured at various stages, carr injured, burgoyne injured and suspended, wilson injured half the year and cochrane playing. So work it out we won about 7 games away. Oh and based on your list - salopak, thurstans, white and chaplin we injured as well.

your list - im talking injuries to good players

wojinski, mackie, david johnson... u forgot to list the boot cleaner as well, havent you got any rookies you can list as well.

We mighnt have had 10 out but our 6 are actually recognised quality players, mostly all aust's not 30 game maybees.

Your kidding arent ya reb mackie, wojinski, mate time to get out of the sun.

When comparing REB make sure you base it on current form, you know a side out of the 8, who have lost 5 in a row at home. Thats a little more relevant then last years position.

DJ has really come on this year and there's nothing wrong with the run that Wojinski provides (or should I say used to provide) from defence. Agree that jury is out on Mackie who hasn't developed physically as much as the club would have liked but you might as well go on about the old lady who sells the chook raffle tickets if you are going to counter with Salopek, White and Chaplin LOL.

So you are saying you haven't won against a good side with ten out then? Just as I thought. There's nothing wrong with Brisbane's current form champ.

regards,

REB

There's nothing wrong with Brisbane's current form champ.

Indeed. But it must be a worry that Geelong couldn't cope with the Lions physical presence.

chrisso (chrisso), Thursday, 30 June 2005 22:38 (twenty years ago)

Indeed. But full strength we are not.

Hey don't hide behind Brisbane to pick on Geelong - we're only just getting our act together.

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Friday, 1 July 2005 06:02 (twenty years ago)

Subiaco awaits. Win that one and we'll all be very afraid. Watch out for the Pies too. They are getting their act together as well. Ack. I've just updated the 'big geelong sook' thread!! What WAS I thinking. Just as well we won't see too much of Jase for a while :)

REB

REB, i noticed your inputs for the last few weeks was down. funny bout that

jsa, Monday, 4 July 2005 01:16 (twenty years ago)

I was in Adelaide for a while Jase. I even got to see the Redlegs win a game too, down at Richmond.

Speaking of the Redlegs, when are you going to go down to the Power's home ground to pick up your Magpies refund when the moneybacks miss the finals..oh that's right, that's only for members LMAO.

REB

Prolly not the smartest marketing move

jsa, Monday, 4 July 2005 02:36 (twenty years ago)

Yes looking forward to see how the lads cope with Subi a second time albeit against a much, much better and more consistent side than Freo. Stranger things have happened - so I'll still be backing them.

As for Benno's Boys I hope they all fall over before they get here!

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Monday, 4 July 2005 05:59 (twenty years ago)

*false sense of security anti-hype starts here*

LL, the Pies are no dangers. Out of the finals race, they have nothing... Noone can match the fab 4, nor Brown. Don't worry about it...

Ends

Brown is too big and strong for any Pies defender. Aker is in too good form. Didak will be intimidated by the roughing up he will get and be a liability. Brisbane will kick it away from Clement.

Lions by 5 goals at least.

Bennö (Bennö), Monday, 4 July 2005 23:41 (twenty years ago)

Hope you're right Benno!

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 06:22 (twenty years ago)

I get in trouble from fellow magpies for saying this, but as brilliant as Didak can be, I reckon his lack of discipline and fear of getting hurt costs Collingwood dearly at times. See Swans game for a prime example.

He's a left footed Nick Davis - can win 1 in 10 off his own boot, but can lose 2 in 10 though his actions or lack of actions.

Bennö (Bennö), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 06:41 (twenty years ago)

Well Benno this can be easily solved dont appeal his 1 week suspension and it becomes a non-issue for both of us :) Are you playing on travelling to the Gabba for the game. There are extra seats now in the new stand which is half complete - looks good.

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Tuesday, 5 July 2005 06:43 (twenty years ago)

The Gorillas are going to name the new stand after Aker. They are going to call it the handstand.

REB you obviously have inside knowledge they weren't going to tell anyone that for at least another week or two. But you must admit it's a handy name!
