I have very little sympathy most of the time for 'serial offenders', but the Pickett report was a joke in the same league as Brown on Hulme last year.

Pickett barely touched Wiggins at all. He hit the ball, which any number of those 'clumsy spoiling attempts' that get the run at the tribunal don't get within a bulls roar of, hard enough to dislodge it from Wiggins' grip and ram it under his chin sharp end first, which might have done Wiggins some damage but didn't. There was no elbow and no high contact. If Pickett had wanted to he could have sent Wiggins' head into Punt Road. Any one of the other 43 blokes who played in the match yesterday could have done what Pickett did and the ump would have left his notebook in his pocket.

(Interesting that Wiggins defied modern thinking and let the ball come onto his chest. If he'd have taken it out front, Pickett would have maybe been pinched for interfering in a marking attempt and no 50 metres. Also, did the ball give him some protection from a front-on challenge? Maybe Kerna isn't such a silly old fart on this issue after all?)

Agrred Fred, but i do fear the worst for him, maybe they should let him off based on the unfairness of the 6 he received earlier in the year.

Hey Westy i think their might be a little tightening around teh neck area for the formerly invincible Eagles, they are on the down slide as happens most year with them, im predicting a straight sets finals exit and depending where they finish on the ladder as top spot could now be in doubt if they lose to hackmantle, wouldnt that be funny, they might finish 3rd and have to play the saints in melb.

PS was good to see wiggins, rather than milk the fact and lay on the ground for 20 mins, get up and get on with it.

Worry about your team, jase. I'm still fairly happy with the way mine is travelling.

The worst thing of all about the Pickett case is the excuse it gives a whole crowd of shit-wits to text/email/fax in crayon/whatever to 'Whine Whine Fever' moaning that 'they're turning the game into netball', thinking that's an original or worthwhile contribution to the discussion.

And maybe also believing doing that actually puts some daylight between them and total nobody-ship.

And speaking of nobodies in search of an audience: I note that prize goose from distant days 'Joffa' is threatening to make a comeback on Saturday night.

I note that prize goose from distant days 'Joffa' is threatening to make a comeback on Saturday night.

Ah Collingwood, it has come to this !!!!

The Collingwood President quoted in todays paper:
"And if ever the AFL were going to give some help to a team that deserves it, it is Carlton because there are so many clubs in the competition who have been able to receive some handouts along the way and that's basically because of the strength of Carlton and the Essendons and the Collingwoods over the years."

Got some good points there Eddie, when do we mentioned that some of the problems facing the club is because they got caught cheating!!! And Essendon too for that matter.

And Essendon too for that matter.

*yawn*

8 years ago!!! Different managment to the one in place now as well.

Essendon didn't have the good fortune of having their extra money sanctioned by the AFL like Brisbane.

Ho Ho Chrisso
You are a laugh a minute. You almost sound like Eddie Maguire! Except he is far, far more offensive.
