Injuries aside, we just haven't been good enough this year. Losses at home to Freo (first time ever) and Melbourne (almost the same) combined with losses to Collingwood, Essendon and the Bulldogs mean that we just don't deserve to be in the eight, and if we do qualify (which I still think we will) we will only be making up the numbers with all of the other sides that finish from 5th-8th this year.
So why bring back Steven King for this week's game against (shudder) West Coast? King has a broken finger, a dodgy shoulder and has been in poor form all season. Give him and us a break. With the season all but gone why not rest the injured players and give Blake a go with Mooney to provide some back up.
At the very least give the big Cat another week off so he can face Richmond in the last round. Cox would monster Kingy when fit judging by this season's form so why not play the kid and provide Worsfold with something the Eagles may not have seen as much of.
Our injury management (ie King, Ottens, Enright, D Johnson) has been even poorer than our skill level this season and that is saying something. Fuck please let this season end!!
regards,
REB

'Hmm should we keep a poor man's Bartel just in case he miraculously turns into a key forward overnight'
No problems with this trade. The match against the Cats was his first decent one in weeks and even though Otto has hardly got on the park this year he has still kicked over 20 goals.

The moloney trade will come back to haunt the cats for a long time, well as long as ottens remains small in heart.

As for Bartel vs. Maloney, Bartel shits on Maloney from a great height. Even during Maloney's 'brilliant' game against Geelong he got less Kicks, Tackles, Marks and Goals than Bartel and against the Toast last week Bartel was brilliant yet again. Think back to the Port game Jase, Bartel cleaned you blokes up that day as well with 29 possies and three goals...but you were probably crying into your beer and watching the SANFL match by the second half of that game so you probably missed it.
Come on Hawka, show me those Bartlel v Maloney stats...it's good to get one right for a change.

Why is it Malthouse is never under the pump, surely based on what Bomber Thompson had put on him last week, why isnt malthouse in the gun, his side have been shocking for 3 years and probably for another 5, come on media have a crack at him.

Malthouse and the entire Collingwood recruiting team should be under the pump.
Chad Morrison is the biggest dud in the last 10 years, and Woewoeful and Cowardcella are not guys who will win you many games through explosive play. All 3 are expensive, and expendable...
A giant broom needs to go through the Collingwood list - and anyone is trade bait if the offer is good enough.
In my ever so humble opinion, keep Bucks, Burns, Licuria, Rocca, Fraser, Clement, Wakelin and Presti as the old men of the club to assist bringing the kids through. Get some kids who can play midfield and with a heap of pace in the side. Keep Fanning, the Clokes 2 and 3, Rusling, Rowe, Maxwell, Rhyce Shaw, heath Shaw, Chris Egan (if he learns to take a bump)
Trade bait is Didud (surely there is a sucker somewhere), Jason Cloke, Tarrant, Leon Dudvis, Tarkyn Lockyer, Richie Cole, Ben Johnson, O'Bree, Brodie Holland.
And released back to play 3rds for Warracknabeal are Matthew Lokan, Tristan Walker, Andrew Williams and Ryan Lonie...
The joint needs a big clean out, but noone is prepared to do it.
