The moral of the story for all of the coaches regarding umpiring. STFU. Avachat the game you cannot win. Bunch of cheats.

Tell me that some St Kilda supporters won't be hucking loogies through the gap where their teeth should be at the white maggots (or whatever colour they wear this week) as the enter and leave the field this weekend...

McBurney Burns Toast
AFL Senior Umpire ???? McBurney(McBurnie?) burnt his toast today while he was distracted at his front door by ongoing invective from ............. supporters who were concerned about a 'Holding the Ball' decision in the ............ Vs ............. game in August 1978. McBurney(McBurnie?) was only 7 years old at the time and cannot remember the transgression but has promised the AFL will investigate...................?
Westener says: I have just polished off a bottle of Amberley Estate(from the vineyards of WA's South West, of course!!) Chenin Blanc by myself and am feeling pretty good, so the above is absolutely hilarious from my point of view.
Duuuuurrrrrrrr!!!!!!

Still I've got my tickets, got my flights, got my accommodation - I'll be there - it could the last time I see my team play this year. But next year should be fantastic.

The Swans were dead set ripped off and a home prelim was gifted to the Egirls on a plate. The Swannies' second goal was taken off them for a bullshit decision. The free kick to Stenglien was guesswork at best and outright cheating at worst. Even the Giesch said it was a crook decision...good one knackers, how about you STFU and fix the bloody standard or piss off. Finally, Goodes gets tackled rugby style in the closing minutes but we can't have the home crowd going home disappointed now can we. PISS FRIGGIN WEAK.
The umpires spoilt this game for me and left a real sour taste...let's hope McBirnie or whatever his name doesn't get anywhere near the Granny..same goes for the goal umpire that paid the Dew and Kingsley goals as well. The shit teams are out and the shit umpires should also be given a spell...the problem is...where do you friggin start.
F*cken cheats.

And as well as having to put up with the shite they serve up no-one is able to say anything.

The man who rode into the Richmond coaching gig on such a tidal-wave of bullshit that lasted two years despite not being able to coach a fish to get wet, has now hung McInerney out to dry after courageously saying diddly-squat all through the 1001 other spats over umpiring over the last two years, conspicuously including the Thomas fiasco. The Geisch might find himself unleashed yet again.

I really enjoyed the game. Westy you'd be a happy lad. Full credit to Woosha and Roosy both handled the after match media like true gentlemen.

For the record with regard to the umpiring debates going on I would like to add my thoughts.
Stenglein - does anyone know where the umpire was looking at that precise moment? Could he have been looking at the Sydney player about to take the kick as he was a fair way back from the mark? Was the decision to reverse the kick a case of "second incident syndrome" similar to Tredrae's free after Archer retaliated? Did McInerney only see Stenglein on the ground and not what happened? And, is Leo Barry an all time loser for running so close to Stenglein in the first place?
Goodes - probably deserved a free for a trip but, equally, appeared to be falling forward prior to the tackle slipping down. Line ball decision.
Crouch - was clearly holding the ball 15 metres out from the Eagles goal with about 5 minutes to go. Anywhere else on the park it would have been a free. Not paid. Were the Eagles robbed?
Keneally - should have kicked a goal. But then so should have Embley. They cancel each other out.
Goodes - tried to be cute with a kick from the outside of the foot when he should have kicked with the left. Poor decision.
All in all, I thought it was a very good game with honours even, but then, I'm probably a bit biased.

It had the three strike report against it, 1) it was glaringly bad 2) crucial time of the game and 3) could of effected the outcome of the match. See you for the pre-season son !!!!

SEAN Dyche is solid. He’s a proper bloke who appreciates the simple, valuable things in life and, to use his catchphrase, doesn’t “overthink” issues.
Whether it’s about his rapid rise to football fame, his dedication to family or his traditional values, at 42, he’s learned that “over-thinking” can be a distraction. So he doesn’t do it.

i doubt it but dyche is of note beyond the provincial confines of football
― Little Saint Hugh of Lincoln (nakhchivan), Tuesday, 22 April 2014 00:13 (twelve years ago)
well, we do, arguably, need a Burnley fan
Dyche is a totem of reasonableness that slots neatly within Real Englishness - the art of being right, but not having to be unpleasant about it, exuding only a sort of implied gruffness as threat while the wording itself remains cordial
― imago, Tuesday, 22 April 2014 00:15 (twelve years ago)
I laughed at the thread title that's a pun on Dykes to Watch Out For
