Why do they say love is unconditional, but as soon as you propose to a woman with a ring that has no diamonds she bites your head of?

um, what does this have to do with books, first off. Second, didn't you know women like diamonds? At least in their wedding rings? Love is conditional on certain conditions that render it unconditional.

Still wondering what it has to do with books, but if a woman bites your head off for proposing using a ring with no diamonds, you may have chosen the wrong woman. I dislike diamonds unconditionally myself and yet I am a woman. That is, my physical condition would indicate such.

This might be a coded Tolkien question?

I find "they" say the darnedest things sometimes. If I were you, I'd ignore them.

I was watching Beverley Hills 90210 with my sister when she was about five and this evil guy proposed to Brenda with a diamond engagement ring. When Brenda looked down at the ring my sister said, 'Did you see her eyes shining?'

How can you type at your computer with no head?

Being an American, a diamond engagement ring is part of the 'American Dream'. Most women grow up dreaming about the day it will be given to them. But if you're not an American, as I suspect you're probably African, then you've seen the damage and the price people really have to pay for a diamond. Things like slavery, torture, death, being separated from your family and loved ones, low wages, and so on...just so someone can fulfill their 'American Dream'.

Maybe you should just explain to her why you chose not to buy her a ring with a diamond in it.

Good luck!

If you have love ,who needs a diamond anyway or am I just being a sentamentalist?

Naw. You're right. A diamond is not ever necessary.

I can't stand diamonds, myself - they're so cold to the soul. In fact, I don't much care for most gems.
