Should we/can we de-google ILX?

Evidence from this very board:

Pimp My Ride

Along with blah blah John Cena blah blah Pimp My Ride blah blah Hair Dye blah blah victims of our own success.

There are a distressingly large number of people smart enough to find us on Google and start a thread but not smart enough to realise that we can't help them.

I probably mean ILE rather than ILX.

I find these quite easy to ignore, and lots of fine people here arrived via Google, so I'd be against a broad anti-googling measure. Degoogling everything on these subjects might be an idea, and I don't doubt that more would need adding as time goes on.

Here's an idea that probably wouldn't require *too much* coding.

How about, if someone who is not registered or logged in, wants to ask a new question, they get redirected to a single page which just explains in 24 point bold type something like "Hi, this is ILX. We are an open community dedicated to discussion of many topics. We CAN NOT fix your hair dye, p1mp your r1de, tell you about J0hn C3n@'s lovelife, or translate Fremme Neppa Vennette. If you still want to join the discussion then click continue"

...or some sort of thing like that.

Registration doesn't need to be required to ask a question, it still lets random googlers post if they wanna join the discussion, but at least lets them know what the board is and isn't?

Just an idea...

Yeah, that suggestion roxors and we are all gay. (isn't it?)

We've been doing this for a week or two and it hasn't helped it too much. It's ONCE AGAIN, AOL and their dumm ass search engine which won't play along. Stupid search engine for stupid users.

Ha ha, that's funny. :-)

At this point, everyone should just concede that this IS a hair dye advice forum.

I wondering what hair dye people would love to use for life on John Cena to pimp his ride.

If we have no more googlers ever I will be very sad. Some of them have provided me with literally hours of laughter. I can still get the giggles over "I love DMB and hate all the people who diss them but shot all the people who like them!!!"

That was about the red hot chilli pepperz iirc (I'm sure "anthony keidis is hott" was part of the original quote) that line is just about my favourite thing ever from ilx, and I've used it on loads of lists, as well as on my webpage:

http://www.vietgrove.com/rants.html

(top of screen) usually to complete bafflement!!

I was seriously collapsing with laughter about once per hour for a week after the original post showed up
