Is it possible under ILX guidelines to remove these posts?

In this thread Marcello hopes for Geir's death and calls him a Nazi. I know it's supposed to be humoristic, but I think it's extremely unfair towards Geir and ruins an otherwise light-hearted thread. Is it possible to remove these posts without Geir himself asking to (he rarely reads ILE). I wouldn't be so quick to react, but Marcello has been quite trollish lately, and I hope something could be done about it.

but to be fair, Geir tends to ignore stuff like this on the ILM pages, and Marc seems to call for everyone's death at various times (including his own)

HOORAY FOR THE MARCELLO FREE PASS

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 20 May 2005 13:05 (twenty-one years ago)

It's a lot like the Ally free pass.

first, tuomas, if you think marcello is behaving trollishly, don't feed him.

second, marcello's statements recently seem to welcome a ban, if a lizard wants to oblige him I'm sure they could find plenty of justification.

Yeah, all of those times where Ally made violent threats against people really began to wear on the board, didn't they?

Are you serious?

i'm not sure marcello deserves a bannin', he's just grim and miserable

Gear! (can Jung shill it, Mu?) (Gear!), Friday, 20 May 2005 16:47 (twenty-one years ago)

yes Jon, what part of that seemed weird to you?

I don't know that he deserves a banning either, he's just said several times that he lacks the control to stop visiting, even though it makes him miserable. He didn't outright ask to be banned, though, so I don't want to put words in his mouth or take any action to that effect. I'm just saying that if someone wanted to ban him, they could probably dig around and find a justification. I don't think that digging around just to find a reason would be the right course of action, but I did want to acknowledge Dan's "free pass" comment--I don't like anyone being that nasty on the board, but we're generally all familiar with his persona and can take the good with the bad. Again though, DNFTT.

I'm being tremendously unclear and contradictory, I know. The Nazi comment did bug me--if he had used the n-word I would have deleted it immediately--but then I have to start thinking what's the difference (and I know there is one, it's just a matter of quantifying it in my head) and it all gets kind of muddled.

I think it's just weird, manic, delusional hyperbole and projection. he called claires a KKK member on the Kylie thread, for example, presumably because he said he'd met her and she was pleasant to him.

Gear! (can Jung shill it, Mu?) (Gear!), Friday, 20 May 2005 17:02 (twenty-one years ago)

but that's not anything but Marcello being Marcello.

it's his way of saying "i love y'all".

I don't know what this Ally free pass is.

I made a pass at Ally once, and it cost me dearly.
