Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:34 (twenty years ago)

She-Hulk + X-Statix = I am a happy man.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:36 (twenty years ago)

I'm guessing your first post is Maddie's swag for the week?

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:42 (twenty years ago)

Obv. it's Huk's!

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:46 (twenty years ago)

You're covering for Blount, aren't you?

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:53 (twenty years ago)

Is Emo Boy a Legion of Superheroes spin-off

Mark Co (Markco), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:54 (twenty years ago)

Emo Boy is the nu-Crow.

Not really.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:56 (twenty years ago)

I think he's in the Teen Titans??

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:59 (twenty years ago)

Daredevil, X-Statix, X-Factor, 52

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 22 May 2006 15:14 (twenty years ago)

52, Secret 6, Runanways digest, Blue Beetle (maybe...)

Mark Co (Markco), Monday, 22 May 2006 15:18 (twenty years ago)

52 WEEK #3
CATWOMAN #55
HELLBLAZER #220
JSA CLASSIFIED #12
DAREDEVIL #85
IRON MAN #8
NEXTWAVE AGENTS OF HATE #5
NEXTWAVE AGENTS OF HATE CRAYON BUTCHERY VAR #5 (Colouring in, kids!)
POWERS #18
SHE-HULK 2 #8
SPIDER-MAN LOVES MARY JANE #6
X-FACTOR #7
X-STATIX PRESENTS DEAD GIRL #5

Might get secret 6 as well if the shop have copies.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 22 May 2006 15:20 (twenty years ago)

52, Annihilation, Nextwave, She-Hulk, X-Factor, X-Statix, and probably the second Runaways trade, 'cuz this first one was pretty good, surprisingly enough. Oh, and maybe Blue Beetle. I'm on the fence with that one. How much money can I spare for the merely competent?

chocolate kuegelhopf (Garrett Martin), Monday, 22 May 2006 15:33 (twenty years ago)

52 WEEK #3
BATMAN #653
BLUE BEETLE #3
JSA CLASSIFIED #12 (will this actually get good or is it a lost cause?)

FANTASTIC FOUR A DEATH IN THE FAMILY because it seemed a good idea when i put it on my pull list

SPIDER-MAN LOVES MARY JANE (does this make me sad?)

WOLVERINE #42 (the art looks quite goood whether the story is on the other hand)

though i think this might be my last spider hearts mj cause its enjoyable but i need more money for "important" stories or maybe thats why i ought to keep getting it

and jsa is on last chance saloon

secondhandnews (secondhandnews), Monday, 22 May 2006 15:39 (twenty years ago)

Is the FF one-shot Kesel again? Why they don't just give him the comic to write I don't know, probably becayse it's tied up in Civil War for aeons.

Tom (Groke), Monday, 22 May 2006 15:57 (twenty years ago)

Eff an expected list:
http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping/shipping_052406.txt

OMG STUFF I ACTUALLY WANT TO READ (and green lantern)

52 WEEK #3 - Is Luthor going back to his mad scientist roots, and taking out the competition?
BATMAN #653 - I'm actually kinda confused about the non-agreement between 52 and Batman, since 52 says the Man Without A Face (M-M-Mel Gibson!) is Gotham's protector, but Batman says it was the man who used to have two, but now only has one, but really, still has two.
BLUE BEETLE #3 - There's a lot to like about this series and there also seems to be real, honest effort to keep it clear of bad superheroisms in favour of NEW ideas and a bit of a sense of cheekiness, "Oh Jamie, don't you know it's ONE YEAR LATER!!!"
GREEN LANTERN #11 - Oh, lanternpaws.
SECRET SIX #1 (OF 6) - If for nothing else than the hot covers and the sexual tension between Deadshot and Catman.
ROCKETO JOURNEY TO THE HIDDEN SEA #8 - OMG, Rocketo seems to be coming out WITH REGULARITY
DAREDEVIL #85 - KILL PUNISH DESTROY
SHE-HULK 2 #8 - UGLIEST SHE-HULK COVER EVEr

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 22 May 2006 16:43 (twenty years ago)

wait, another Rocketo, already? has it even been a month?

chocolate kuegelhopf (Garrett Martin), Monday, 22 May 2006 16:47 (twenty years ago)

SHE-HULK 2 #8 - UGLIEST SHE-HULK COVER EVEr

I'm surprised, especially considering the Hr0n's masterpiece cover for #7!

c(''c) (Leee), Monday, 22 May 2006 17:42 (twenty years ago)

this is the Civil War She-Hulk of Two-Worlds cover, right? (that's the one I'm thinking of as ugliest yet!)

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 22 May 2006 17:45 (twenty years ago)

wait, another Rocketo, already? has it even been a month?

My records indicate that #7 came out May 3! Whoopee! Espinosa probably got ahead of schedule during the transfer between publishers.
Though, and I'm almost embarrassed to criticise this or any other book for this, maybe if Rocketo's ahead of schedule, use the extra time for just one more look-through for copy-editing, pls.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 22 May 2006 17:51 (twenty years ago)

omg OTM huk; if i see one mis-use of "to" (for too) i am gonna destroy.

THIS WEEK:
Rocketo
She Hulk
Daredevil
52
Iron Man

electro-acoustic lycanthrope (orion), Monday, 22 May 2006 17:58 (twenty years ago)

http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping/shipping_052406.txt is up now!

For me:

52 Week 3 (well, now it's a responsibility, I suppose)
Birds of Prey #94 (where is the story going?!)
Secret Six #1 (I will tentatively follow Gail Simone wherever she wants to go, at least at first)
Supergirl/Legion #18 (vaguely starting to lose interest, but still pretty interested)
Daredevil #85 (no, really, Foggy's dead! Honest! Didn't you hear?)
Fantastic Four: A Death in the Family (not a dream, not a hoax, blah blah)
New Avengers #19 (we got the AC-TIE-YON)
Scott Pilgrim Vol. 3 (read it already, it's AWESOME)
Uncle Scrooge #354 (it's got a Don Rosa story, therefore I must read it!)
Following Cerebus #8 (...?)

Douglas (Douglas), Monday, 22 May 2006 18:54 (twenty years ago)

Wait, a regular issue of Legion is out this week too? That's nice.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 22 May 2006 19:28 (twenty years ago)

oh, i guess i'll get following cerebus too maybe, and nude avengers. maybe i'll have laura get nude avengers, since my interest in it has waned dramatically.

electro-acoustic lycanthrope (orion), Monday, 22 May 2006 20:08 (twenty years ago)

52
batman
birds of prey
blue beetle
jsa classified
secret 6
buckaroo banzai!
shulk
daredevil
scott pilgrim upon dougs recommendation

chaki (chaki), Monday, 22 May 2006 20:35 (twenty years ago)

Chaki, have you read the first two Scott Pilgrim books? Start with those--I think this one might be even better than the first, but you really do need to read 'em in sequence.

Douglas (Douglas), Monday, 22 May 2006 20:44 (twenty years ago)

will do, thanks bro.

chaki (chaki), Monday, 22 May 2006 20:51 (twenty years ago)

FOLLOWING CEREBUS

and TCJ if there's any copies at the shop, I never got last month's, SADFACE

kit brash (kit brash), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 01:10 (twenty years ago)

I must have looked at a dud list - I'll def get Legion and Birds of Prey (who is Prometheus (amazing liver regenerating powers or what?) and why should I care about his him and his hideous outfit?

Mark Co (Markco), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 07:47 (twenty years ago)

No reading anything without reading Grant Morrison's JLA!

(He's a villian who planned and schemed to disable each of the JLA members, but Huntress cleaned his clock because she was a new member)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 07:59 (twenty years ago)

Huntress = the Theo Wolcott of the JLA.
(Though you'd think her weaknesses would like be Batman's weaknesses but weaker).

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 08:39 (twenty years ago)

Huntress = immune from being kicked in the nads. Perhaps that is where Prometheus' scheme fell down.

I did look at some Morrison JLA books in a shop but could not cope with the rubbish art

Mark Co (Markco), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 09:01 (twenty years ago)

Though it would be horribly insulting to Porter (who is, incidentally, much better--or at least much better inked--now), they should really reprint the entier GM JLA with new art.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 14:13 (twenty years ago)

preferably 4l3x Ross painting over L!efeld pencils

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 14:20 (twenty years ago)

I quite liked Porter on teh Flash but that JLA stuff was just awful

Mark Co (Markco), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 14:26 (twenty years ago)

mark co JLA: EARTH 2 is awesome!

chaki (chaki), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 17:04 (twenty years ago)

Why do you people hate PORTERHOUSE LOVE CHUNKS!

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 17:05 (twenty years ago)

i love a good porterhoues chunk, skewered and char-grilled. maybe some mushrooms and red peppers and shit on there, too.

electro-acoustic lycanthrope (orion), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 17:13 (twenty years ago)

you eat shit on your steak? Ewwww.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 17:14 (twenty years ago)

GET WITH THE TIMES, BRO.

electro-acoustic lycanthrope (orion), Tuesday, 23 May 2006 17:32 (twenty years ago)

Warlock Magazine (Warlock Magazine), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 01:44 (twenty years ago)

Who said "Alex Ross inking over Liefeld pencils" again?

Tom (Groke), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 05:42 (twenty years ago)

QUOTEfan favoriteUNQUOTE

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 13:41 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, that ZOMG PORTER feeling I had upon seeing the first piece of Shazart has been mitigated by A) more pages and B) WINICK.

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 13:42 (twenty years ago)

THE BOY AND THE MAN

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 13:56 (twenty years ago)

Barry Dutter of Scott Plains, NJ is my hero.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 25 May 2006 03:02 (twenty years ago)

SHE-HULK #8 Eh, I don't really care about this Civil War stuff. It wasn't a great She-Hulk issue, but at least it was perfectly readable considering that I came in knowing NOTHING about CW.

X-STATIX #5 Really good, but not revealing who the Pitiful One was (i.e. he was never supposed to be any one specific villain, I'm sure) = pretty weak.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 26 May 2006 14:18 (twenty years ago)

I agree that She-Hulk was very "meh" this week. Hopefully the roffles will continue next month, without the taint of this civil war business.

electro-acoustic lycanthrope (orion), Friday, 26 May 2006 14:58 (twenty years ago)

Amen. Paul Smith, tho, is NICE.

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 26 May 2006 15:03 (twenty years ago)

I hate that Jameson guy. Where is Pug??? Goddammit. I can't believe I give a shit who She-Hulk goes out with.
And whooo, is that not a new low by Garg H'ronmeer? (though he doesn't deserve ALL the credit, whoever made the brilliant call on the Civil War stylesheet helped heaps)
