YES!! If your country is taken over by a right-wing junta then you're laughing. If the commies steal away your homeland then you can point to the fact that Cap punched out Reagan, caused the death of Nixon and is violently attacking Bush as we speak. He's got this THING about right-wingers. Seriously, it's like he's a coiled spring just waiting to shout "CAPTAIN AMERICA NO MORE!!", leave his costume in a hedge and pull on the proud nakedness of Nomad The Man Without A Country. WHY NOT JUST BECOME THE NEW FLAGSMASHER, CAP YOU GODLESS HIPPY.

Across the knuckles of your right hand, and across the knuckles of your left, a batman in yellow oval logo.

Then you will be the geekiest "Night of the Hunter" tribute evar.

Ah, little lad, you're staring at my fingers. Would you like me to tell you the little story of right-hand/left-hand? The story of good and evil? BATMAN! It was with this left hand that old Bob Kane struck the blow that laid his brother low. CAPTAIN AMERICA! You see these fingers, dear hearts? These fingers has veins that run straight to the soul of man. The right hand, friends, the hand of Captain America. Now watch, and I'll show you the story of life. Those fingers, dear hearts, is always a-warring and a-tugging, one agin t'other. Now watch 'em! Old brother left hand, left hand he's a fighting, and it looks like Captain America's a goner. But wait a minute! Hot dog, Captain America's a-winning! Yessirree! It's Captain America that's won, and old left hand Batman is down for the count!

If it wasn't a horribly painful placement, it'd be funny to tattoo Plastic Man on the naughty bits.

Because Reed Richards would just be too serious.

scamperingalpaca (Chris Hill), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 03:40 (twenty years ago)

You should get Rob Liefield Tittycap tattoed really big across your stomach.

No.

Raw Patrick (Raw Patrick), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 09:18 (twenty years ago)

Just the shield, I think you could get away with. I've got a friend who has the Shazam lightning bolt on his forearm (and I don't think he's even that big of a geek).

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 13:31 (twenty years ago)

I think you get away with it, up to the point where someone asks you what it is...

Ray (Ray), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 13:41 (twenty years ago)

I don't know, how is having to explain Captain America's insignia any more embarrassing that 1,000,000 other more common tattoos?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 13:48 (twenty years ago)

Just wordlessly salute them.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 13:50 (twenty years ago)

You don't think having something derived from the Stars and Stripes tattoed on you is a little embarrassing?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 14:25 (twenty years ago)

GET A TAT MORANS

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 14:26 (twenty years ago)

Design-wise, it's pretty awesome. It's a little bit 'fascist', a little bit disco.

No, unless you're planning on directing and staring in a sequel to "Easy Rider." I have a friend who has the Hunter Rose Grendel mask on his bicep and it looks moronic.

ng-unit (ng-unit), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 14:57 (twenty years ago)

i actually really, really love this country.
just not the people who currently are running it.

electro-acoustic lycanthrope (orion), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 15:06 (twenty years ago)

Once you explain it (and you will have to explain it, people always ask what tattoos mean), it becomes as geeky/cool-because-unconcerned-with-popular-conceptions-of-geekiness as a tattoo of Captain America. So in that sense, you can't "get away with it".

Ray (Ray), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 15:09 (twenty years ago)

Just because people ask, doesn't mean you have to explain it.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 15:12 (twenty years ago)

i can just say "IT IS CAPPIN AMERICA'S SHIELD, U GOT A PROBLEM WIT DAT?? FUCKIN PINKO."
