Jonathan Ross meets Steve Ditko

Okay, has anyone seen two grown men look more pleased with themselves than Neil Gaiman and Jonathan Ross after they came out of their meeting with Steve Ditko? I don't think so.

For you non-Britishes, this was the doc in the BBC's Comics Britannia season, that was on last night. It was also notable for the sight of Stan Lee squirming when asked a direct question about the co-creator credit for Spider-man.

Why it was in that season is actually beyond me, as it was entirely concerned with American comics. Nice Alan Moore interview though.

Stan trying to get back out of it ("I only said that because you made me") was classic.

Unbelievably, Stan and Jerry Robinson are both 85 (OK, Stan's only 84, but you know how he likes to exaggerate) - didn't they both look good on it?

gaiman looked a bit odd to me. odd in a not what i expected kinda way, which is odd in itself as i've met him twice. older, maybe, or worse hair. but yes, pleased as punch.

used to see gambo at comic fairs in london from time to time, hunting for carl barks.

i liked when he pulled out House Of Mystery #92 to show mark miller.

no mention of Shade The Changing Man in the documentary or any of the articles i've read about it.

Good little doc. I wonder what the American fanboys will think of Wossy, though.

The second "I wasn't this cool" kid = still much cooler than me. :/

Pretty good doc, Jonathan really IS a fanboy of so many things. Always nice to see Alan Moore talking about anything, also.
They also showed my favorite Spidey cover ever, #4:

Re, this show and Comic Britannia -- I never realised Alan Moore was such a ham

Whoops, I just got confused and answered the office phone "Hello, Alan Moore"

I am jaded by the modern age - I expected the final panel of Amazing Spidey #4 to have had the dialogue photoshopped to say BUTTSECHSED.

now all us 'mericans can discuss this! watch it soon before its taken down!

yeah, Moore is quite the showman: "ooy'm a ROY-TUH and muhhh-jishh-unn…"

As a nurd, I would like to say that two years ago I looked up the Sturdy One's number in the NY phone book, and called it. no answer.
