you were way too stingy with the butter
― DAN P3RRY MAD AT GRANDMA (just1n3), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:33 (fourteen years ago) link
yes you need lots of butter with your vegemite
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:34 (fourteen years ago) link
or if you have only got marmite, then lots of butter and nothing else
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:35 (fourteen years ago) link

if you guys are eating something only tolerable by adding lots of butter, maybe you shouldn't be eating it?
― tehresa, Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:41 (fourteen years ago) link
tell that to snails
― get up and use(rna)me (electricsound), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:44 (fourteen years ago) link
maybe you should eat fries without salt huh
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:46 (fourteen years ago) link
that is hardly the same thing!
― tehresa, Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:51 (fourteen years ago) link

― get up and use(rna)me (electricsound), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:52 (fourteen years ago) link
well do you eat jam without butter eh? eh? eh?
its a moot point as i have been known to enjoy vegemite without butter, even if its not quite the same
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:53 (fourteen years ago) link
stop going on about that awful picture.
― estela, Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:57 (fourteen years ago) link
that something awful picture??
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 03:59 (fourteen years ago) link
good point, one takes it you never eat cake, only flour straight from the bag
― RAPTOBER (sic), Thursday, 15 October 2009 04:03 (fourteen years ago) link
that's ridiculous. vegemite/marmite/etc = complete products made up of many ingredients. you even get a delivery vehicle: bread. then you wanna add butter to disguise that it's crap.cake = complete product made up of many ingredients. you can add frosting to enhance, but you don't need to.jam = complete product with delivery vehicle. no butter needed. it's not crap. it's tasty!

I hope nobody wants Mac & Cheese once the tehresa administration comes to power.

― DAN P3RRY MAD AT GRANDMA (just1n3), Thursday, 15 October 2009 04:43 (fourteen years ago) link
you don't need cheese to make macaroni unrevolting.and anyway, mac & cheese is a dish. comparing meals/dishes to CONDIMENTS is not really valid.
― tehresa, Thursday, 15 October 2009 04:43 (fourteen years ago) link
haha i am actually really curious now!
― tehresa, Thursday, 15 October 2009 04:44 (fourteen years ago) link
marmite is like cherry cola, root beer, dr pepper, and other such kinds of strange american 'flavours': it's revolting to most foreigners.
― DAN P3RRY MAD AT GRANDMA (just1n3), Thursday, 15 October 2009 04:46 (fourteen years ago) link
it's also revolting to me and i grew up in the same country as you.
― estela, Thursday, 15 October 2009 04:46 (fourteen years ago) link
tsk tsk, lady
― DAN P3RRY MAD AT GRANDMA (just1n3), Thursday, 15 October 2009 04:47 (fourteen years ago) link

because i'm incredibly slow on the uptake i have only just realised that the marmite involved in all these tests wasn't even real marmite!!! it's some weird NZ version? no wonder you guys didn't enjoy it!! perhaps you should run the test again with proper marmite??? just a suggestion.
― jabba hands, Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:00 (fourteen years ago) link

Wait, I misread you as saying you thought vegemite was revolting. Scratch my last remark from the record!
― ceci n'est pas une pipecock (Trayce), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:02 (fourteen years ago) link
New Zealand Marmite is described as having a "weaker" or "less rancid" flavour than the British version.
― DAN P3RRY MAD AT GRANDMA (just1n3), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:03 (fourteen years ago) link
Which suggests that New Zealand Marmite *is* rancid, just less so than the Pommie version.
― "i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:04 (fourteen years ago) link
Please note: Vegemite has been rancid-free since 1923.
flagrant wiki vandalism there
