half credit

half wit

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 13 January 2009 23:37 (fifteen years ago) link

(sorry, that was not directed at anyone; it's just the first response to "half credit" that popped into my head)

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 13 January 2009 23:37 (fifteen years ago) link

Latest drama in my school world is that one of our profs thought she was grading something out of 25 points, but it should have been out of 50 points, and basically everyone thought they had failed this (rather huge) assignment. I've been on the phone for the past two hours with upset fellow students.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 13 January 2009 23:39 (fifteen years ago) link

See this is why I *work* at a school, not take classes there.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 05:49 (fifteen years ago) link

It was not a fun afternoon. I jokingly emailed another student, who had received two points more than I had on this assignment, that she had "gotten a higher 'F' than me!"

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 05:52 (fifteen years ago) link

Also, the assignment was one of the dreaded billion page papers (TNCs) that everyone hated already. This incident did not give people warm fuzzies.

Did I mention we have a final on Thursday night? A lot of people lost study time in being upset about this nonsense.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 05:53 (fifteen years ago) link

sara called me a half wit because i didnt know about the chicken pox vaccine :(

R. L. Stinebeck (John Justen), Wednesday, 14 January 2009 05:54 (fifteen years ago) link

Aw, sweetie, that's not why I called you a half wit.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 05:55 (fifteen years ago) link

sigh

R. L. Stinebeck (John Justen), Wednesday, 14 January 2009 05:58 (fifteen years ago) link

*hugs*

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 05:59 (fifteen years ago) link

(I'm just thinking that you were seriously lucky to not get chicken pox that night that H4ll13 G00dm4n exposed you to them, dude. I haven't forgotten!)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:00 (fifteen years ago) link

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:06 (fifteen years ago) link

ps since H4ll13 was, like, 5 at the time, I think we can safely say that John's exposure was the least racy part of the evening.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:06 (fifteen years ago) link

btw, Just1n3, I have purchased something to mail to YOU and hope to manage to do that after my final on Thurs. night. (so - sometime next week I might make it to the post office???)

Somehow I feel sure that we can thank George W. Bush for this feat of helping just1n3 out.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:17 (fifteen years ago) link

(ps John, sorry if I pissed you off)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:18 (fifteen years ago) link

R. L. Stinebeck (John Justen), Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:19 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm just going to boggle at that for a moment.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:21 (fifteen years ago) link

(you can choose which part)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:21 (fifteen years ago) link

part of my eternal chippiness is based on the fact that K and I just figured out our amortized mortgage + property insurance + property tax + incidentals for the next calendar year = $550

R. L. Stinebeck (John Justen), Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:25 (fifteen years ago) link

GO TEAM!

R. L. Stinebeck (John Justen), Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:25 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm going to assume that you meant "eternal chipperness" and yet still enjoy the lolz

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:26 (fifteen years ago) link

But yes, good work for for team!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:26 (fifteen years ago) link

uh per month BTW. oh and also we will be hosting a Cr3m4ster viewing party (m4tth3w b4rn3y, look him up) courtesy of a dude we know that has all of it (illicitly) on digital format.

R. L. Stinebeck (John Justen), Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:27 (fifteen years ago) link

heh yes chipperness that too.

R. L. Stinebeck (John Justen), Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:28 (fifteen years ago) link

Well, yes, I kind of thought that was low for a whole YEAR.

NO CLUE what you are on about wrt Cr3m4ster or anything else, but will use any excuse to not study, including illicitly watching... waitminute, this isn't a horror movie, is it?

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:29 (fifteen years ago) link

xp I was waiting for that shoe to drop.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:29 (fifteen years ago) link

http://www.cremaster.net/cc_trailer/cc_trail2.htm

R. L. Stinebeck (John Justen), Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:31 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm skimming his wikipedia page... interesting!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:32 (fifteen years ago) link

btw, super sad that I missed the reference to "cremaster muscle," especially considering I was just studying reproductive anatomy in prep for OB section of test. (So, literally just looked through a slide of major male anatomy.)

This probably means I'm going to fail the test, right?

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:34 (fifteen years ago) link

Okay, that trailer is o_O

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 06:38 (fifteen years ago) link

That trailer made me late for work.

Also gave me walking nightmares.

I MUST SEE THIS.

^likes black girls (HI DERE), Wednesday, 14 January 2009 15:17 (fifteen years ago) link

So you'll be at John's party then.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 14 January 2009 17:07 (fifteen years ago) link

He can use all of that money he's saving per month to send J031 and me plane tickets!

(srsly though, $550???? how the hell did you manage that)
