and angry!

R. L. Stinebeck (John Justen), Thursday, 15 January 2009 00:36 (fifteen years ago) link

And yet weirdly adorable!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 15 January 2009 01:43 (fifteen years ago) link

lolz @ your crappy climates! oakland is feeling like summer again already!

downside: riots are imminent.

just1n3, Thursday, 15 January 2009 03:30 (fifteen years ago) link

walked through tons of cops, 6 or 7 choppers overhead, streets closed off, again tonight.

Ed, Thursday, 15 January 2009 03:53 (fifteen years ago) link

All quiet on the OC front here.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 15 January 2009 05:38 (fifteen years ago) link

Glad yr safe, Ned!

Ed - that cat is CRAZY.

Just1n3, I hope you are okay?!

As for me - it is so cold here that they have closed our school district for tomorrow. My study time before tomorrow night's final is now GONE! So I'll be up for a while tonight... sigh.

movie that i watched that was unexpectedly great: Hancock

R. L. Stinebeck (John Justen), Thursday, 15 January 2009 06:32 (fifteen years ago) link

Really?

I would add it to my Netflix queue, but it's currently full. ;_;

Trying to prepare myself for reviewing course content about child abuse. Happy, happy stuff.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 15 January 2009 06:48 (fifteen years ago) link

I could have told you that about "Hancock", only I expected it to be great!

Hi!

Saw Will Smith in Leicester Square yesterday for the premiere of Seven Pounds as I was passing through on my way to see Gomorra. Peoples wuz screamy.

Also, other peoples were taking photos of him on the big screen above the theatre's entrance. wtf?

more private than a bar stool (Upt0eleven), Thursday, 15 January 2009 13:42 (fifteen years ago) link

Wait, so they were taking pictures of a picture of Will Smith?

Okay, that is kind of nuts.

decisions decisions decisions

may not return to nz in july, after all. might just skip all the shit, take a tiny wee risk*, and get married in the next few months, then apply for adjustment of status.

*if we get denied, i will be deported and barred from reentering the US for 3-10yrs

just1n3, Friday, 16 January 2009 00:01 (fifteen years ago) link

that risk is based on my 'intent' to immigrate marry: i.e. if i had intent to do such a thing upon entering the US, that would be consider visa fraud. but obviously i had no such intent, since jordan and i had never met in person.

right?

just1n3, Friday, 16 January 2009 00:02 (fifteen years ago) link

i never heard of anyone not getting away with that but they do make you jump through hoops for it. everything is jumping through hoops with the DHS though.

plus, at worst, you can both go live in NZ, no?

Suzy, i did not know that about the feet!. Beeps has a bad cold right now and I did the vaporub feet thing a couple of nights ago (thx sara for reminding me in the nick of time) and it worked like a charm. so weird.

looking at other people on the visa forum, i'd say we are practically guaranteed approval - there's people from jamaica, phillipines etc. who've all gotten married with a couple of months of being here on J-1s and gotten approved.

jordan is paranoid they're going to break into our email accounts, and check all the sites we post to, but like i told him: there's tens of thousands of ppl trying to immigrate, and i doubt v much they have time to investigate to the nth degree every single one, and i doubt that the average joe bloggs who's handling our case has access to the kind of technology that would allow that kind of internet snooping.

just1n3, Friday, 16 January 2009 01:20 (fifteen years ago) link

we'll probably save about $3000 too

just1n3, Friday, 16 January 2009 01:21 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm trying to imagine Serious People reading through ILX. What a job! Obviously, I am clueless about what to advise about your situation, just1n3 - but I'm trusting that it's all going to work out for you. I am!

Sunny - that's awesome that that worked! I will remember the trick!

As for me, I just finished my final for this nutty nsg class. I passed, although my test grade kind of sucked... but so far that seems to be the case for everyone I've heard from (the most uptight, perfectionist people in the program, other than me). So... whatever. Two more courses!

Sara R-C, Friday, 16 January 2009 02:05 (fifteen years ago) link

tza, if you are out there somewhere, I finished watching Children of Theatre Street tonight and really enjoyed it. (I think it was your rec...)

Also, I have had a boozy milkshake and am much happier than I was earlier in the evening....

Sara R-C, Friday, 16 January 2009 05:32 (fifteen years ago) link

I am concerned that all of ITR has frozen to death, and I'm left all alone on an ice planet.

And here I was thinking I was looking for a tauntaun. I can see that I'm doomed.

Sara R-C, Friday, 16 January 2009 19:27 (fifteen years ago) link

well, global warming is a bitch, tauntauns and banthas now roam the same plains

Neither option sounds good unless Han Solo is coming to rescue me, tbh.

Sara R-C, Friday, 16 January 2009 19:35 (fifteen years ago) link

John - is the band called "Sigh?"

Sara R-C, Sunday, 18 January 2009 02:58 (fifteen years ago) link

^likes black girls (HI DERE), Sunday, 18 January 2009 05:35 (fifteen years ago) link

You think it sounds good now, but when John jumps out of your cake dressed only in his biker shorts, what are you going to say then?

Sara R-C, Sunday, 18 January 2009 06:22 (fifteen years ago) link

(btw, that idea is kind of ruining my night, too, no offense, Scurvy)

Sara R-C, Sunday, 18 January 2009 06:23 (fifteen years ago) link

Just1n3! Sky writing?! I am agog. That is kind of amazing. Can't wait to see the ring pix - and again CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I am celebrating Dan's birthday by going to my sister's to celebrate her husband's birthday and two of her kids' birthdays. I truly hope Dan is doing something better...

Is April 18th Minnesota Sex day or something?

Ed, Sunday, 18 January 2009 16:35 (fifteen years ago) link

All I can figure is that it is spring. (Who taught you Naegele's Rule, anyway, lol?)

Sara R-C, Sunday, 18 January 2009 16:39 (fifteen years ago) link

I have 9 fingers and a spare.

Ed, Sunday, 18 January 2009 16:39 (fifteen years ago) link

Oh wait, you're not using the Rule, just adding three months. DUH!

(sorry guys, my brain is in perpetual NCLEX mode right now - we have our midcurricular comprehensive exam Thursday night.)

Sara R-C, Sunday, 18 January 2009 16:40 (fifteen years ago) link

oh... the plane/smoke thing was a joke, guys!! but since we chose the ring together, and made the decision to get married together, jordan is surprising me with the inscription on the ring and making a little bit of a big deal out of actually giving it to me, just to be old-fashioned and traditional.

lol @ the jewelry store lady: when we told her our budget she basically flicked us off on to a younger, newer salesgirl.
