I mean, I know what she's been up to so far at Yahoo, and I use some of their services, but other than a couple useful iOS ventures and applying resources in some spots and cracking down on employees who are out farting around instead of actually working from home...

right now yahoo doesn't really have any products that i personally use or care to use. i don't even have an account and haven't had one in a long while, and i couldn't give less of a shit about flickr, which i guess is the one thing yahoo owns that some people still give a shit about. but if you're interested in corporate turnarounds in the tech sector, which i am, this is probably the most high profile one going on now that i can think of.

remember how people were actually like, woah, good decision on yahoo's part when the news went out of her hire? well, if you see what she's done since then, a lot of it seems kinda at least heading in a positive direction, and i think over time there's at least some sort of chance that at least something interesting will come of it, maybe, and if it doesn't oh well. but, really, i think what she's doing is worth devoting at least some attention to, if you care. and if you don't maybe go post about daft punk or something

yahoo has a lot of good properties, yahoo finance is like the most used finance website, yahoo news gets tons of traffic too i think??

yahoo is a profitable mature uncool company which in the tech world means youve got to burn it down cause developers developers developers or something

my guess is that they're not gonna stop doing the stuff theyr'e c urrently doing that makes them money like the kind of stuff dayo listed. as far as tumblr goes, if they acquire it, which at this point seems like a distinct possibility, it might be in their best interest to leti t run as a semi-autonomous thing a la facebook/instagram.

tumblr is a very 'sticky' website for sure, lots of eyeballs on it constantly all the time, like twitter, but how r u gonna monetize, u cant survive on VC money forever

now if yahoo wanted to buy a particular tumblr, like say sad youtube, then that would definitely make it a company worth paying attention to

put ads on there seems to work for other sites
