Really? The times I've called the gas company re leaks, they've shown up within half an hour. There's usually a separate (emergency) number for that stuff, I thought.

no, I just got tackled by 4 14 year olds who saw that I tried to hail a cab. They claimed they had a gun, but I didn't really believe them. Anyway, I managed to hang on to my wallet and just give them the cash. Eh, I learned my lesson about not paying attention to shit around me.

this was on S4th and Berry many years ago. late evening of drinking until 4am had me slumping down the street like a zombie. two teens "not from the neighborhood" spotted me and ran up behind me right outside my apt.

funny thing is i did the same thing. forked over the $20 i had left and told them i was keeping the wallet. thank god i didnt have more money on me or i might have tried something stupid.

saw some wild shit around one of them BQE mini-parks once. a friend and i walked by and spotted these teens kicking this one kids ass. when we got too close they stopped and gave us hard looks. weirdest part was that the dude getting beaten got up to his feet and stared us down, didnt try to run. when we got far away enough they resumed throttling him. i guess we intruded on a gang initiation or something.

one month passes...

we are not asleep right now because there are like 10 police trucks parked outside my window. cops with giant guns putting on bullet proof vests and helmets. and a helicopter w/ searchlight circling the neighborhood. why must my street be staging area for whatever maneuver is about to go down? (we are guessing maybe a hostage situation in the projects?) they even have a van w/ computers inside like in movies!

My buddy just got a gun pulled on him. He was on his bike, the gun was in a car, and in the aftermath he ran into me and tacoed my rear wheel. Bummerz. Except that no one got hurt/shot, so that's happy faces.

This was not in Bushwick.

where did your buddy get the gun pulled on him evan? i remember driving my ex's car down division back to our apartment after signing the lease for my bachelor pad and seeing a guy walking down the sidewalk very non-challantly carrying a gun. like it may as well have been a bag from mickey d's or a library book or something. as if it were no big deal to be walking down division & central at 3:30 on a tuesday afternoon carrying a gun. but then again, at division and central maybe it's not such a big deal
