as much as i don't like addidas for actual running, i'm loving the addidas i bought about a month ago (which i realize i also should've bought in black&gold too and now cannot find anywhere... let alone in size 9.5 (oh how i love buying shoes in america) - sort of like below but without the velcro strap and maybe cut a little lower, stripes smaller too: these

and they come in a dark teal blue too! the only thing abt those is that, on me, they're good with jeans/pants but not so good with skirts, as they're higher cut, which my white, lower-cut sneakers are, and which is partly why i love them!

i don't know what's up with the dumb velcro strap on those ones i posted. it's like oh these shoes are pretty much perfect, let's add a totally unnecessary mildly retarded element! gah

i bought the exact same pair of vans that i'd worn out. same color, style and size. only sorta tried them on in the store, but for some reason when i brought them home and walked in them, noticed they're smaller?! i dunno if they're skinnier or what, but it fucking sux. shouldn't brands have some sort of consistency?

I think those campers above are much nicer, but I probably won't buy another pair of campers until I have a decent job again - 50-100% more than Clarks seemed like it made sense when I rationalized that they'd "last longer", but it doesn't matter how good the leather and construction are when the sole wears down in the same time.

I am looking for something similar to this, but not that expensive, and actually in my size. Anyone else know of a good pretty plain black boot that's zip-up or similar?

Looking for some sort of ankle-height thing, since I did a great job of spraining my ankle a while ago and could use some support. Really tempted by those Campers upthread, though.
