the creepydrugmonkey that used to dance for them with the maracas and the scary gollum/starvation eyeballs bugging? he was too scary for me.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 19 November 2004 19:43 (twenty-one years ago)

face it though, who wouldn't want Bez's job?

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Friday, 19 November 2004 20:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Does John Coltrane Dream of a Merry-go-round? (ex machina), Saturday, 20 November 2004 23:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Scott, im quite surprised you don't like them, i would have thought you would have liked them really! Try Performance, Little Matchstick Owen and Fat Lady Wrestlers,

*@*.* (gareth), Sunday, 21 November 2004 23:53 (twenty-one years ago)

i will! i'm always hoping that i will find a bunch of madchester stuff for cheap. i never heard any of it. i wanna hear moose and inspiral carpets. i don't know why. i was listening to Ride the other day, but i guess they don't count. i do like the stone roses. they were fab. especially that fool's gold. i want a copy of their 2nd record too. i like that thing. big rock attack! like the 2nd suede album. i like that one too.

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 22 November 2004 00:07 (twenty-one years ago)

i'll give ya my copy of stone roses second coming if you want it, scott... there are a few good songs i'll have to rip to harddrive, but i NEVER listen to that album. it's got a lot of filler/mediocre junk.

Ian John50n (orion), Monday, 22 November 2004 00:08 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe i need more Ride. I only have their first album. at least i think it's their first. it's produced really badly. but yeah, i do like the shoegeezery more i guess. i like catherine wheel too. everyone who likes bigrockguitar production should have a copy of Chrome.

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 22 November 2004 00:09 (twenty-one years ago)

really, Ian? i remember liking it when i heard it, but that was a zillion years ago. i just remember it being really over-the-top.

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 22 November 2004 00:10 (twenty-one years ago)

it sounds too much like led zeppelin! (and yeah, really! just drop me your address and i'll send it out next after thanksgiving break [next week]) (i'd say i'll send it this week, but i know i won't.)

Ian John50n (orion), Monday, 22 November 2004 00:12 (twenty-one years ago)

when me and my pal Don (don is really cool and you guys would like him. he used to be in the philly band Ink & Dagger and now he's in the Icarus Line. he's also one of the philly kidz who was blown away by Rollerskate Skinny(!) for some reason. i always thought that was a strange philly indie-kid phenomena. they looooooved rollerskate skinny.) saw the strokes before anyone knew who they were we thought they sounded like Ride!!! Or one of those bands. And a little like Oasis too. then they learned how to play and tightened their shit up and started sounding like richard hell or whoever they are supposed to sound like. they were terrible.

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 22 November 2004 00:14 (twenty-one years ago)

that band THE MUSIC (the 1 song i've heard) sound like the happy mondays

A. BORRELLI (A. BORRELLI), Monday, 22 November 2004 00:38 (twenty-one years ago)

it's funny ... i got the demos that andy bell was working on for his second album - he dropped them in the post - and they are really cool - honestly - it sounds like sunn))))))))) ....

i like the first two mondays albums. but then again i like the moonflowers. both just have that drug-soaked grooves thing going on with the first two albums - completely incompetent guitar playing etc just jamming on one-chord grooves. genius!

doomie the saint (jimmy the sainted kid of death), Monday, 22 November 2004 09:37 (twenty-one years ago)

bez had a carrier bag full of weed when i met him. i took one of his maracas, and later his minder tried to charge me for it so i gave it back.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 22 November 2004 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

there was weed in the maraca, i'm guessing.
