THIS IS THE THREAD WHERE WE TALK ABOUT THE NIRVANA BOX

my favorites from the first three discs (got too late to watch the DVD):

-even in his youth
-they hung him on a cross (droney electric leadbelly cover)
-drain you demo
-aneurysm demo
-endless, nameless demo
-scentless apprentice demo (heavy and noisy and long and jammed out)
-electric polly demo (not like the incesticide version)
-D-7
-sappy (b-side version)
-old age (the best weezer song ever, and it's a fucking outtake.. this song alone helps make the point against weezer--that they were just a nirvana clone with a slightly altered pop:noize ratio.)
-gallons of rubbing alcohol flow through the strip
-milk it demo

HOW ABOUT YOU?

oh, and "do re me" is fucking beautiful also. Most of the acoustic crap on the third disc ain't for me, though.
acoustic sliver = other really good acoustic track

This is the thread where I go back in time to 1994 and listen to cassettes.

I should go find my cassette of Dave Grohl's first album. I actually kind of liked that one.

Ian John50n (orion), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 19:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Sometimes I forget how raunchily skronky they were in their earliest days. 50 |\|01Z3? I would say YESSUM.

Stormy Davis (diamond), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

how much is this going for?

Sonny, Ah!!1 (Sonny A.), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 23:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Crackerbash boxset? Sean Croghan is beyond terrible. Have you heard any of his later bands like Jr. High? The worst ever -- audible poison. Still, it's pretty funny how he acts pretty smug around town like he's a rock star -- as if.

jack cole (jackcole), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 01:43 (twenty-one years ago)

ddb (ddb), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 02:06 (twenty-one years ago)
