i saw them in philly after that one album came out with the weird baby on the cover and they were pretty impressive. very psychedelic. they played weird art-movies behind them and they had a cool light show and the lead singer who plays his guitar with a violin bow looked like a weird spider. if i had been on da drugs it would have been the best show ever. they filmed that show for an hbo music special and i taped it but this gay puerto rican opera star borrowed it from me and never gave it back!! that tape had a cool bjork show on it where bjork plays in a church with an all-lady choir and matmos play a deck of cards a la cage/satie/anyone else who would think to shuffle a deck of cards and call it music/art/a day.

The end of "Hjartad Hamast" with the sound like burning up upon re-entering Earth's orbit = kinda almost n01z3.

The problem with Sigur Ros is that they are all girly men.

They know how to noise. Playing a guitar with a violin bow until it squeals for mercy is always noise. Listen to a live version of "Hafssol" and tell me it's not noise.

a friend of mine has a copy of that film, scott. If i had been on drugs and at that show I probably would've shed tears of elation. That said, if they weren't so "arty" and decided to make some real noise, they'd probably be really good at it. Unfortunationately they seem to want to make new age music really bad. Oh well.
