Late at night when the wind is still
I'll come flying through your door,
And you'll know what love is for.
L'm a bluebird, i'm a bluebird
I'm a bluebird, l'm a bluebird
Yeah ,yeah ,yeah.

I'm a bluebird, i'm a bluebird,
I'm a bluebird
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Touch your lips with a magic kiss
And you'll be a bluebird too,
And you'll know what love can do.

L'm a bluebird, i'm a bluebird
L'm a bluebird, l'm a bluebird
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

L'm a bluebird, i'm a bluebird,
L'm a bluebird,
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Bluebird
Ah ha,
Bluebird
Ah ha,
Bluebird.

Fly away through the midnight air
As we head across the sea,
And at last we will be free.

You're a bluebird, you're a bluebird,
You're a bluebird, you're a bluebird
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You're a bluebird, you're a bluebird
You're a bluebird
Yeah, yeah ,yeah.

Bluebird
Ah ha,
Bluebird
Ah ha,
Bluebird.

All alone on a desert island
We're living in the trees,
And we're flying in the breeze.

We're the bluebirds, we're the bluebirds
We're the bluebirds, we're the bluebirds
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

We're the bluebirds, we're the bluebirds
We're the bluebirds
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bluebird
Ah ha,
Bluebird
Ah ha,
Bluebird.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 January 2005 03:41 (twenty-one years ago)

What's so unusual about liking a Camper Van Beethoven album?

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 28 January 2005 03:44 (twenty-one years ago)

i like all the other ones, but i REALLY LIKE that one.

HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEW ONE? OMG!

x-post

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 28 January 2005 04:22 (twenty-one years ago)

no i have not heard the new cbv. i am somewhat skeptical.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 January 2005 04:26 (twenty-one years ago)

FEEL THE LOVE.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 28 January 2005 04:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Gygax! will know these references: I saw Camper Van Beethoven play at the Che Cafe (a little restaurant on UCSD campus) and at an instore at Lou's Records ca. '85 or '86 when the first album was just out. I was a teenager.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 28 January 2005 04:32 (twenty-one years ago)

oh let's see;

I like cvb the first time round -- the reformed cvb is pretty lame, though -- too many years of cracker poisoning the system.

I like the first two white stripes albums, falling off the wagon with the third on sympathy.

i like ringo's all star band better than wings.

if i were to list some things i like i know no one else does but i have no regrets about at all, it might include:

Silkworm
Japanther
and
fred neill

jack cole (jackcole), Friday, 28 January 2005 04:40 (twenty-one years ago)

h, you should be skeptical about the new cvb -- very meh. not as terrible as you might think it could be but not that stellar either -- i.e. meh.

jack cole (jackcole), Friday, 28 January 2005 04:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought everyone likes that Sundays album. what does Harriet do now?

S!monB!rch (Carey), Friday, 28 January 2005 04:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I like Fred Neil!!!!!

also silkworm is okay but i can't see buying their records.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 January 2005 04:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Jack, all the White Stripes records sound the same!! if ya like the first two, ya oughta like 'White Blood Cells'! Actually I'm surprised you ever liked them becuz you are one of the noize dudes who I felt might view my White Stripes love with disdain. and Stencil too, I know he hates them.

Stormy Davis (diamond), Friday, 28 January 2005 04:54 (twenty-one years ago)

jack cole bummin' me out re. CVB and teh Macca

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 28 January 2005 04:55 (twenty-one years ago)

i wouldn't say hate per se, but i don't see why everybody loves 'em. they're just pretty blah, esp. when compared with other bands mining the same vein.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 January 2005 04:58 (twenty-one years ago)

i felt the white stripes live, but can't feel it much recorded. something's a-miss.

m.

msp (msp), Friday, 28 January 2005 05:10 (twenty-one years ago)

au contraire, mr. davis -- not all the white stripes albums sound the same. the problem with the third is that the music becomes formulaic. besides, didnt you listen to the 2cdr thing i sent you? i am hardly a thoroughbred.

mr. ellison, i do not mean to make you frown. mea culpa.

h, i didnt get the impression you liked neill. what was the name of your column again?

re: sundays -- for me they are the epitome of brit/college rock.

jack cole (jackcole), Friday, 28 January 2005 06:00 (twenty-one years ago)

they are, but the girl is a fox and has a nice voice.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 28 January 2005 12:43 (twenty-one years ago)

*chrome by the catherine wheel is one of my fave britrock albums.*

i like fred neil! and bob james!

i liked that white stripes record when i first played it when i was drunk. it made me dance around a little bit. it reminded me of the pixies and the gun club a little bit. but i never really played it after that.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 28 January 2005 14:06 (twenty-one years ago)

oh, and i liked the first two EPs that tanya donnelly put out as Belly on 4AD. they had some great songs on them. But i didn't like the Belly album.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 28 January 2005 14:07 (twenty-one years ago)

gareth have you heard bob james' record on ESP?

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 January 2005 16:07 (twenty-one years ago)

no, i keep meaning to pick that up, and forgetting:/

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 28 January 2005 16:15 (twenty-one years ago)

it's pretty good.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 January 2005 16:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I like both belly albums, haven't heard the EPs but i guess i've got to check them out now.
also, eye heart

I saw them live once in a field in the park near my parents' house. All the punk rockers made fun of them and Material Issue.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 January 2005 21:51 (twenty-one years ago)

This record is pretty good
http://www.artistdirect.com/Images/Sources/AMGCOVERS/music/cover200/drd400/d482/d4824344630.jpg

scott seward (scott seward), Saturday, 29 January 2005 01:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I like this:

http://img.epinions.com/images/opti/bc/fa/131924-resized200.jpg

o. nate (onate), Saturday, 29 January 2005 20:53 (twenty-one years ago)

i karaoke'd Faith last night! haha.

dude, i saw overwhelming colorfast open for fIREHOSE in 1991... they were big dudes.

gygax! (gygax!), Saturday, 29 January 2005 21:03 (twenty-one years ago)

They sound like total California surfer dudes/hippies.

o. nate (onate), Saturday, 29 January 2005 21:44 (twenty-one years ago)

it was a really bad band name but not as bad as buckfast superbee

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Saturday, 29 January 2005 22:10 (twenty-one years ago)

haha - that's pretty bad. But do they have a song called "Totally Gorgeous Foreign Chick"?

o. nate (onate), Saturday, 29 January 2005 22:25 (twenty-one years ago)

three weeks pass...
HPENCIL I SAW THE CAMPER VAN BEETHOVEN/CRACKER TRIO (LOWERY AND SEGAL PLUS CRACKER GUITARIST) YESTERDAY TWICE AND THEY PLAYED TEH "ALL HER FAVORITE FRUIT" AND "SWEETHEARTS."

QUITE A SHOW. I DIDN'T FOLLOW TEH CRACKER BUT A LOT OF LOWERY'S SONGS FROM TEH CRACKER SOUNDED GOOD--IT'S NOT LIKE HE MAGICALLY STARTED SUCKING AFTER KEY LIME PIE! ALSO THE GUITARIST JOHNNY FROM CRACKER IS A TRULY OUTSTANDING GI-TAR PLAYA! FUH!

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 25 February 2005 19:14 (twenty-one years ago)

CVB: parts separately less than the whole.

Cracker embraced severe wankage, which increased with every album (the first is probably the best, but even that's a little mediocre) -- released CD with Leftover Salmon (jam band affiliation is the road to sucksville) -- YECHHHHH!

jack cole (jackcole), Friday, 25 February 2005 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

CVB and Cracker are playing the Bowery. Hstencil get your TIX NOW!

S!monB!rch (Carey), Friday, 25 February 2005 19:25 (twenty-one years ago)

i can't take cracker. i hated the other guy in cracker. yeah, johnny. i don't know why i never liked that guy.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 25 February 2005 19:48 (twenty-one years ago)

"All Her Favorite Fruit" was s sooo prety

Sonny, Ah!!1 (Sonny A.), Friday, 25 February 2005 20:15 (twenty-one years ago)

That show at the Bowery is probably the Camper Van Beethoven/Cracker trio that I saw yesterday.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 25 February 2005 20:48 (twenty-one years ago)
