Becaue, I don't know, "I Will Dare" is not that bad of a SONG and yea they seemed to get boring (didnot follow dem!), but I never heard early RECORDS like Stinck and HOOTENANNY. Have u?

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Monday, 14 March 2005 21:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I love THe Replacements.

just adam (nordicskilla), Monday, 14 March 2005 21:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I played "Left Of The Dial" on a jukebox Saturday night and everything wrong seemed right for a few minutes.

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 14 March 2005 21:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Read about your band in some local page
Didn't mention your name, didn't mention your name
Sweet Georgia breezes, safe, cool and warm
I headed up north, you headed north

On and on and on and on
What side are you on?
On and on and on and on
What side are you on?

Weary voice that's laughin', on the radio once
We sounded drunk, never made it on
Passin' through and it's late, the station started to fade
Picked another one up in the very next state

On and on and on and on
What side are you on?
On and on and on and on and...

Pretty girls keep growin' up
Playin' make-up and wearin' guitar
Growin' old in a bar, ya grow old in a bar
Headed out to San Francisco, definitely not L.A.
Didn't mention your name, didn't mention your name

And if I don't see ya, in a long, long while
I'll try to find you
Left of the dial

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 14 March 2005 21:58 (twenty-one years ago)

you told me you could "take or leave them".

just adam (nordicskilla), Monday, 14 March 2005 22:01 (twenty-one years ago)

THEY'RE NOT THAT GREAT GUYS

green uno skip card (ex machina), Monday, 14 March 2005 22:03 (twenty-one years ago)

They are one of those bands that have incredible moments but on the whole, they were very mediocre.

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 14 March 2005 22:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I'VE NEVER EVEN HEARD THE REPLACEMENTS!

The JaXoN 5 (JasonD), Monday, 14 March 2005 22:33 (twenty-one years ago)

IM A FAN.

ddb (ddb), Monday, 14 March 2005 22:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I HAVE A FRIEND FROM WISCONSIN WHO LIKES THEM. ALL HE LISTENS TO IS THE DJ DJANDGO REINHARDT GUY AND LIKE JOHN CALE

green uno skip card (ex machina), Monday, 14 March 2005 22:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, I'm not really a fan. They're boring. Terrible leaden rhythm section. Just totally mediocre blah-rock. Of course they are like Miccio's favorite band or something. Figures. They do have some pretty songs here and there though. That "Can't Hardly Wait" is really sweet. But whenever they try to "rock", ugh, what a trainwreck.

Stormy Davis (diamond), Monday, 14 March 2005 22:46 (twenty-one years ago)

ITS RAD THE MATS ARE GETTING HATED ON.

DESTROY TEH CANON. LET IT BE IS AN AWESOME RECORD.

ddb (ddb), Monday, 14 March 2005 22:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Ian, I just realized I have 3 copies of Let It Be. I will give you one.

S!monB!rch (Carey), Monday, 14 March 2005 23:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Do the Replacements have a greatest hits? I would totally buy that.

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 14 March 2005 23:15 (twenty-one years ago)

ian's never even posted on this thread - xpost

The JaXoN 5 (JasonD), Monday, 14 March 2005 23:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Monday, 14 March 2005 23:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Do the Replacements have a greatest hits? I would totally buy that.

Chuck Tatum made a good one. I'll give it to you.

just adam (nordicskilla), Monday, 14 March 2005 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

S!monB!rch (Carey), Monday, 14 March 2005 23:22 (twenty-one years ago)

if you come to NY, I will give you one of my extra copies JAXON.

S!monB!rch (Carey), Monday, 14 March 2005 23:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I haven't heard that much Replacements, but most of it sounded pretty boring to me.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 14 March 2005 23:27 (twenty-one years ago)

haha. carey, i'm coming to NY in two weeks. i might hold you up to this!

The JaXoN 5 (JasonD), Monday, 14 March 2005 23:28 (twenty-one years ago)

but if i don't like it, i won't hesitate selling it for drugs or sex

The JaXoN 5 (JasonD), Monday, 14 March 2005 23:28 (twenty-one years ago)

i've never really tried hard to listen to them. my wife loves them. that taints them further cause i have to navigate billy joel and indigo girls cds to get there.

msp (msp), Monday, 14 March 2005 23:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Is Stink a good hardcore record, though???

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Monday, 14 March 2005 23:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I will leave it on my doorstep for U if I am out of the country.

S!monB!rch (Carey), Monday, 14 March 2005 23:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I got Tim & Pleased To Meet Me. I never listen to 'em anymore, but there are still a few songs on those albums I like. Was "Fuck School" on Stink? That was a rad song. Cuz, seriously, fuck school.

Ian John50n (orion), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 00:38 (twenty-one years ago)

haha. i almost posted the same thing

The JaXoN 5 (JasonD), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 00:39 (twenty-one years ago)

3 good songs:

"bastards of young"
"can't hardly wait"
that one about alex chilton

fuck everything else.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 05:46 (twenty-one years ago)

"Bastards of Young" -- indeed.

I like moments of the Alex Chilton one, but I can't hang w/ the "I'm in love with that song" bit or the freaking "I never travel far without a little Big Star" bit.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 05:49 (twenty-one years ago)

oh you're right, the "never travel far" bridge with westerberg's "ooooh" right before the shitty solo kinda sux.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 05:51 (twenty-one years ago)

what was bob's replacement named? slim whitman? slim pickens?

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 06:01 (twenty-one years ago)

UH I THINK IT WAS SLIM SHADY ACTUALLY

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 06:07 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm sorry but "indian love call" by slim whitman >>>> any song the replacements came up with.

the ghost of nashville has possessed me... any questions?
m.

msp (msp), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 07:21 (twenty-one years ago)

after Ma Trash and Stink -- the slide down into mediocrity. anything without bob stinson -- fuck it. westerberg's ballads were always fucking tres lame.

jack cole (jackcole), Tuesday, 15 March 2005 07:25 (twenty-one years ago)

four months pass...
NO

Tumililingan (ex machina), Monday, 25 July 2005 06:22 (twenty years ago)

latebloomer: You may order a puppet similar to this one (latebloomer), Monday, 25 July 2005 11:48 (twenty years ago)
