i've always loved that pgp stands for pretty good privacy. that's just... super.

I'm using GPG in a SCRIPT.

THE JAMES DEAN OF THE OLD TESTAMENT (ex machina), Thursday, 30 June 2005 16:37 (twenty years ago)

it's a good way to go... i use AES some... sometimes just good ole triple des if i change my keys a lot. i've got a couple things i've written to store my most secure info in various ways... that way if something crappy happens to me or the wife, someone moderately computer literate can decrypt all my passwords for everything etc etc. fucked up to think of the exit strategy you have to have these days with the interwebs and stuff.

i know a girl who killed herself and her myspace page is still alive and jackasses keep spamming it but nobody's been able to do anything about it yet cause of password issues. i mean, it's just a myspace page, but...

ANYWAY... . noize boys and ladies that lurk them... haha!

I am leary about encrypting anything. Except for connections. I use Adium/Gaim's encryption to discuss some stuff.

"I am leary about encrypting anything"

true... if my crypto class in school was any proof, many of the known, widely used ciphers are a total joke. like, i'm fairly sure the federal-BI can shit their way through lower bit SSL pretty easily if they want. specialized optical boxes and so on.

i'm just repeating what a doomsaying professor with too much classified knowledge insinuated... although, i wouldn't put it past him to be fuckin with us. wizard of oz styles.

Well there was the EFF DEScracker which was a $10,000 investment in specialized PGA hardware that can pwn low end encryption no problem. Any large multinational or government can scream through low end SSL, etc.
