Good People,

Here are some good upcoming shows that you should know about. First, this weekend my good friends THE WEIRD WEEDS will be in town from Austin, Texas. This is their first time ever playing in New York City, which is exciting. It’s also exciting because their debut CD, Hold Me, is one of my favorite things I’ve heard all year. Seriously, they’re that good. They’re so good I’m even helping to publicize their shows even though I had nothing to do with booking them. Here’s the details:

Saturday May 28th @ GLASSHOUSE GALLERY
The Weird Weeds (http://www.weirdweeds.com/)
Castanets (http://www.asthmatickitty.com/)
Marissa Nadler (http://www.marissanadler.com/)

38 S 1st btwn Wythe & Kent | Williamsburg, Brooklyn
L-Bedford/G-Metropolitan/JM-Marcy | 8PM | all ages |

Sunday May 29th @ Knitting Factory Old Office
The Weird Weeds
Skeletons (http://www.shinkoyo.com/)

http://www.knittingfactory.com/calendar/calendar_page.cfm?date_diff=0&room=3&location=1
74 Leonard Street, Manhattan

Also, with the superb help of Mr. Todd P, I am happy to announce the following shows we’re co-booking/co-promoting. First, this fantastic five-act bill:

Saturday June 4th @ FLIGHT OF THE BUFFALO (tentative)
Metalux (http://www.metalux.org/)
Growing
Trebville Exchange ——–> Sharon Cheslow & Bromp Treb from Fat Worm of Error
Scarcity of Tanks ——–> Matthew Wascovich & Kevin Shea (Jackie-O Mother Fucker, Bunny Brains, Storm & Stress, Coptic Light)
Dan Friel —————> from Parts & Labor

[ FLIGHT OF THE BUFFALO ]
265 McKibbin St #409 | EastWilliamsburgIndustrialPark, Brooklyn
L-Montrose or Morgan | start time tbd | all ages | $TBA - donation
347.564.1399 or 510.459.6224 if door is locked

Then, in July, what looks to be one of the better shows you’ll see this summer:

Sunday July 10th @ the Glasshouse
Sir Richard Bishop ———-> from Sun City Girls
Akron/Family (M. Gira’s backing band for Angels of Light)

38 S 1st btwn Wythe & Kent | Williamsburg, Brooklyn
L-Bedford/G-Metropolitan/JM-Marcy | 8PM | all ages | $TBA – donation

I hope that all of you can make these fantastic shows.

oh no you + 1 always on the 'list' again

21 grand is a bit of a hole in the wall but it is a homey hole. have seen a lot of good music there.

milton parker (Jon L), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 20:52 (twenty-one years ago)

jon, i was peeping around yr sites today. wanted to listen to some Sagan stuff but the mp3s were missing (got a 404). i also saw the dates. i'll try to go to the Rickshaw show.

[that bastard] jaxon (jaxon), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 20:57 (twenty-one years ago)

those mp3's have been down forever, it is sad. will list you under your actual name at rickshaw.

milton parker (Jon L), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 21:24 (twenty-one years ago)

rad. that means i actually have to go now, huh, instead of just saying i will and then bitching out?

[that bastard] jaxon (jaxon), Tuesday, 24 May 2005 22:12 (twenty-one years ago)

nah, rickshaw & 21 grand are mellow with lists, unlike many places. wherever saturday takes you.

however, they will all know who you are
