well ok then. about ten minutes after I posted that, they urged us to leave the office and go back to our hotel, with an escort. There was no violence or anything, just loud protesting/horn honking (and I v much support these dudes given the fucked shit going on). they had cracked the window of our office.
but apparently after those protesters left peaceably, many people stayed behind and started some fires, attempted to knock out windows. they hadn't even evacuated our office building (they told us to go, but the rest of the office was expected to stay). they had to be evacuated when the situation became untenable.
crazy day but people are fuckin' pissed here and rightfully so.
