ok reevaluating the situation for no other reason than trying to make sense of it, i was hanging out with a bunch of kids that are totally questioning their christian roots or whatever. the movie OBVIOUSLY is a little sexually uncomfortable, but mainly, ITS A DUDE WHO IS GETTIN LIT UP IN A PAGAN RITUAL. the whole movie is a creep fest that leads up the that climatic moment of faith expanded, which is totally diminished by the pagan jeers of the onlooking crowd. i think that is the horrowing crux of the movie that might of freaked them out. if they get past the sexually charged scenes that previously occured.
