Adam, I recently learned in the pages of the East Bay Express that you've lived in the Bay Area for many, many well quite a few years now... so it comes as a mild surprise of your continued innocence w/r/t West Bay weather in the summer. Do keep up!

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 16 August 2005 22:10 (twenty years ago)

why am i only now realizing (after living here for 28 years) that all southern californian blonde republican christian venture capitalists are actually SECRET COKEHEADS???

what are people in pacifica / half moon bay like? yuppies? townies? granola?

i've spent lots of time in bonny doon but i've come to realize that 90% of the people there are connected to UCSC, so you get a strong hit of generic UC college culture with some earthy undertones.

vahid (vahid), Tuesday, 16 August 2005 23:01 (twenty years ago)

dudes, what is the rent like in PESCADERO??

maybe neil young will rent me some space in the stables. i can sleep on hay with an ethiopian goat to keep me warm.

vahid (vahid), Tuesday, 16 August 2005 23:03 (twenty years ago)

My only knowledge of Bonny Doon is the vineyard up on Pine Flat Rd and Davenport Beach and Acid Beach.

Dean may be able to speak more about the SC area folx but I think there is a new-agey, hippy-dippy trance/burning man sensibility thread that runs deep in the community fabric.

Pacifica can be a bit more suburban. SC is kinda like its own universe.

Pescadero is sticks. My old roommate Erin was from there, straight up WT with a little bit of the silicon valley residue (Early Retirees!) creeping in around the edges.

From what I understand Neil is based in Topanga and Mill Valley, but this may be outdated info.

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 16 August 2005 23:13 (twenty years ago)

My darling gygax,

Well not many years but this is my third summer in the Bay Area. Doesn't time fly?

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 17 August 2005 03:12 (twenty years ago)

You do know what "a few" means? Don't make me bust out dictionary.com!

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 17 August 2005 03:18 (twenty years ago)

is it more or less than 'a couple'?

For those who have lived in the Bay Area for less than 2 years and 2 months:

Doesn't Pacifica have the least number of sunlight days in North America or something?

It is sadly fogged-in on a constant basis.

This is me! Having the last word!

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Thursday, 18 August 2005 15:43 (twenty years ago)

Also please note that I was merely informing Vahid of my trip to Half Moon Bay, at no point did I express surprise at the state of the weather there.

I like it that you did your homework, too.

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Thursday, 18 August 2005 15:46 (twenty years ago)

I like how you deleted that thread calling you out, sucka!

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 18 August 2005 15:50 (twenty years ago)

I like your bizarre double standards!

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Thursday, 18 August 2005 15:52 (twenty years ago)
