i'd love to buy a new computer. but i've been putting that off for years. whenever i have the money to buy one, i have a job that has a super nice computer and as soon as i actually need one at home to do freelance work, i can't afford one.

and i caused a major home problem this weekend and had to pay for someone to come out and fix it and now i can't buy any cds or records until the end of september. thank the lord for ysi

JAXON (jaxon), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 17:32 (twenty years ago)

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 17:35 (twenty years ago)

Caitlin, get one mac mini.

the food has a top snake of 1 (ex machina), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 17:37 (twenty years ago)

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 17:44 (twenty years ago)

I wish I could afford internet that was faster than dial-up at home, so I could do the "downloading music" thing that I keep reading about.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 17:46 (twenty years ago)

iBooks aren't that expensive...

the food has a top snake of 1 (ex machina), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 17:48 (twenty years ago)

The last honest gentleman (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 18:12 (twenty years ago)

This is dumb, but what do I need to get to make my Powerbook wi-fi connectible? A card of some sort?

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 18:21 (twenty years ago)

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 18:23 (twenty years ago)

the food has a top snake of 1 (ex machina), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 18:25 (twenty years ago)

I have one of the 12-inch G4 Powerbooks, I bought near the end of 2003.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 18:42 (twenty years ago)

The last honest gentleman (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 18:43 (twenty years ago)

I don't think I do.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 18:44 (twenty years ago)

2003? I really do think you have one. Mine is from mid-2004. Try connecting to a network!

The last honest gentleman (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 18:45 (twenty years ago)

Look in Network in control panel.

the food has a top snake of 1 (ex machina), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 19:06 (twenty years ago)

Hmm, I'll check it out when I get home. I hope I'm not THAT dumb.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 19:41 (twenty years ago)

I hate to say it...but it sounds like you could be.

The last honest gentleman (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 20:15 (twenty years ago)

So if you're leeching wi-fi off of someone, say a neighbor for example, can they figure out who it is that is leeching off of them?

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 20:19 (twenty years ago)

Only if they really, really want to. And certainly not without help from their provider or something.

I was using my neighbour's network for a while and didn't even realize I was on it.

The last honest gentleman (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 20:22 (twenty years ago)

A suit from Lanvin!
Also, my phone bill, student loan payments, and car insurance. Must get one job.

dar1a g (daria g), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 21:17 (twenty years ago)

i used my neighbor(s) wifi for over a year, with bit torrents going and they never noticed. they stole my boxes so fuck them. and at the moment i use free a0l (dreamy isn't it?) dial up w/s=ulseek running and still manage to pull a hundred songs a week. i'll call a@l up in a few weeks and they will hook it up for a nother month but ill be gone by then anyays. i cant afford:apartment anymore- hello couches! plane ticket to visit my baby niece in osaka.-dislike drifting through jetstreams anyways but i am in 'milking unemployment to its last drop before i have to go back to work for the rest of my life-phase' oh fuck did someone just say student loan payments dont get me started watch your step
