Special Agent Dale Koopa (orion), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 02:16 (twenty years ago)

i dont really want all their opinions...

bb (bbrz), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 12:36 (twenty years ago)

this band tastes like eating styrofoam or a brown paper bag

cutty (mcutt), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 13:13 (twenty years ago)

it got about 10 minutes of listening last night before i decded to flood the apt with incence and blare angus mclease instead.

one song sounded like hey were trying to remember what a certain yo la tengo riff was, but then passed out...comeon kids, if yr gonna do the ole space rock thing, put something into it...

on the other hand, still having no shelfing, etc to put cd's on in the new place, im rediscovering records i completely forgot i own...the mclease makes for great siting in a cloud of smoke record. i realized that i probably hadn't given it a sober spin before....

bb (bbrz), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 13:20 (twenty years ago)

dude ANGUS MACLISE fucking rules and i will destroy anyone who claims otherwise.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 15:50 (twenty years ago)

bb, you live in greenpt now right? you should go to the mininokoto show on 29th.

Special Agent Dale Koopa (orion), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 15:52 (twenty years ago)

terry lennox. (gareth), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:10 (twenty years ago)

oh, there was supposed to be a quote there

"Fans of Windy & Carl, Bardo Pond, Landing and the little gnome may like this quite a bit. Can't get enough myself. Props for keeping it under 40 mins, and not wasting my time or theirs. 'Isn't it our time, Mr. Hand?'" - womblife"

terry lennox. (gareth), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:19 (twenty years ago)

grimble grumble was terrible.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:21 (twenty years ago)

you didnt even like the split 7 with azusa plane?

terry lennox. (gareth), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:22 (twenty years ago)

no.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:24 (twenty years ago)

i can't think of much worse than a grimble grumble/azusa plane split single.

Charles Fort (Grodd), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:26 (twenty years ago)

never really got azusa plane, just seemed a cheapo version of roy montgomery

terry lennox. (gareth), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:28 (twenty years ago)

oh, i'll be at the show at the palace!!! beyond thrilled to see them as i missed them last time around. (and ill support almost any show thrown within 4 blocks of my house)

did anybody see the yura yura shows last week?

bb (bbrz), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:46 (twenty years ago)

that's a perfect description, gareth, of azusa plane.

Charles Fort (Grodd), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:49 (twenty years ago)

i missed yura yura.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:50 (twenty years ago)

joel, do i have to go and buy the other re-issues now that i've rediscivered my love for this one (mclease, das ist)?

they were ok (yura yura), imo. but i was tired and got burnt out quick....and also the tonic crowd made it impossible to be excited. all that standing. i know i shold be used to it. but, come on kids.

bb (bbrz), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:53 (twenty years ago)

i think all the maclise reissues are good. which one do you have? you should be able to find the others for cheap.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:54 (twenty years ago)

no home is complete without angus maclise.

Charles Fort (Grodd), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:56 (twenty years ago)

ive got the one thats mostly red...something about clouds i think.

i was hoping i'd find the others used...then got onto other quests.

you think i can tell you the name when i've been spelling his name all morning?! evidetly the quick google fact check beat me this am (and evidently an article in Art in America from 1979 spelled it wrong al morning too)

bb (bbrz), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:59 (twenty years ago)

last night i was tempted to light the entire $4 bundle on incense in order to make the listening more complete.

bb (bbrz), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 17:00 (twenty years ago)

Freezing to death is very serene, better than incense.
