these are things i plan to regularly use my comp for:

regular internet browsing
dvd-player/dvd-burner
slsk/dl'ed music storage/eventual iPod transfer, if/when i get one
spider solitaire
programming on a remote SAS server for work

do i need more than 256 RAM?
do i need more than a 1.4 processor?
do i need more than a 40GB hard drive?
