escalator gamelan = found-sounds like REBORE

riding the escalator up from the subway last night, i heard a tumbly tinkling not unlike a distant gamelan banging away in the plaza. as i approached the top of the escalator, i realized it was the sound of the escalator below my feet. so i went back down the escalator backwards about 10 steps to hear it again.
