I'd be all over the Amazon store if they had the same products as the other guys.

BUMP!

I bought my sampler from Sweetwater many years ago. The fact that it cost 3150 was offset by their throwing a bag of whoppers in the box. Or malted milk duds or something. But they really have(had?) the best most personal service, and I suppose there's a reason they are so respected.

Think I should buy this lefty SG Special from Amazon/Musician's Friend for $850

I got my Fender American Standard Strat and Fender Twin Reverb from MF 4 years ago and didn't have any problems with shipping etc.

seriously,

http://www.sweetwater.com/

you can't beat it's customer service. The guy who talked me through and made the sale called me a few weeks later to make sure everything was going okay and to ask if I had any questions. Their catalogs are like, the industry standard.

I checked it out a bit. I like that they have free shipping with no minimum currently. I saw a few prices that were more expensive than Musicians Friend, fwiw. Thanks for the link though. I hadn't heard of them before.

they're not the cheap-o clearing house, but call them up and talk to them whether you want to buy from them or not. If you were buying complicated stuff, like setting up a ProTools system or whatever, they know what they're talking about.
