need help w/ apartment. don't trust ILE (full of crazy peoples)

i live on the 2nd story.

i have big windows. they face onto the street. i get really good diffuse light because i have big trees in front of my windows. i would like to take the blinds down because 1) they're ratty and 2) they're blocking the light. problem is, if i do this i will be totally exposed to the intersection.

can anybody suggest some sort of solution (i am thinking some very very sheer drape material that i'm not familiar with) that

1) lets in 90% of the light
2) keeps people from seeing into my apartment (not a nudist but you know)
3) doesn't require adjustment
4) looks nice

thx

get or make some sort of roman blind out of a sheer material. we used to have these really light curtains that let in a ton of light but were opaque enough that you couldn't see into our dining room. and the nosey-assed people of oak park were always looking into our garden apartment.

My name is V@hid
I live on the 2nd floor

Get yourself a decent set of blinds. Tilt the blinds so that they are parallel with the earth = letting in a good deal of light + no looky-loos.

Otto OTM. Also, for a flourish, use a very light green or blue sheer material to fill your home with oceanic tones.

Conversely you could drink the blood of the undead, become vampire, hang tapestries in all windows.

you can get adhesive (but not permanent) plastic sheets that can turn your window into some like glass block (or some other distorted, but very light friendly, thing)
