C/D: Finding Laurel an apartment

It's going down, finally: I have to move by end of November. Anyone know of any shares in the $550-750 range? Prefer to stay in mid-Brooklyn but I'll consider all offers.

Con: HAVE TO MOVE.
Pro: Will not be living with current roommates, which, frankly, is cause for celebration and vodka.

You can probably find something pretty nice in Jersey City for that price, but JC is not Brooklyn (wait, you used to live here or something, right?)

laurel, there is a 60% chance that one of my roomates is moving out at the end of november, but you'd have to live with two nerdy girls and two cats in east williamsburg.

there is a pretty church and community garden on the street though!

Belle, thanks! Nerdy is awesome, it's the cats I'd like to get away from. (I don't mind them but my last two roommates' pets have destroyed my furniture, literally -- I'm throwing my couch out.) Keep me posted, though?

yes, they are little furniture-destroying monsters! i bought a cheapish couch for the living room though so at least you wouldn't have to buy a new couch to be destroyed?

Yes but I have a big beautiful rug I splurged on and love that I haven't put down again since previous roommate's cat sharpened her claws/peed on it. Will cost me a bunch to have it cleaned...plus I miss rug. Basically I am tired of other people's pets. :(( But I shouldn't speak too soon because that's far from my first consideration.

i really want a nice rug but that's exactly the reason i can't get one! cats and floorcoverings are mortal enemies.

i bet you can find a great place! a friend of mine just got a beautiful & cheap apartment in lefferts garden. that neighborhood is so cute amd always has nice smells! i think i want to move there next. (i move about once a year, to help stave off teh wanderlust and keep down clutter)

you can live in sunyside and bike through the cemetaries and over the newtown creek to greenpoint in 10 minutes.
