mahalo 4 ur kokua (grady), Thursday, 4 January 2007 22:40 (nineteen years ago)

mahalo 4 ur kokua (grady), Thursday, 4 January 2007 22:41 (nineteen years ago)

~20 mins, couch, home

i think i'm going to get a coffee - espresso, italian café, across the street

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 4 January 2007 22:43 (nineteen years ago)

COFFEE.

Jessie the Monster (scarymonsterrr), Thursday, 4 January 2007 22:44 (nineteen years ago)

(i am going to a friend's for dinner in like 1.5 hours and i do not want to be all sleepy-eyed)

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 4 January 2007 22:46 (nineteen years ago)

Naps suck. Coffee.

John Justen says Toonces was one of the most talented cats on televison (johnjus, Thursday, 4 January 2007 22:46 (nineteen years ago)

good choice!

if it were, say, a two hour nap in a hotel bed vs. the shitty in-room hotel coffee, it'd be much different.

mahalo 4 ur kokua (grady), Thursday, 4 January 2007 22:54 (nineteen years ago)

good point!

i went for the coffee and i ain't regretting it.

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:02 (nineteen years ago)

Oh man, if I had my own bed/couch and 20-30 minutes to spare I would TOTALLY nap. Coffee just covers up the problem for the duration of the caffeine buzz. It doesn't take two hours, even a 15 minute lie-down can give me hours more of night life.

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:03 (nineteen years ago)

thing about naps is they can go either way. they can be refreshing but they can also be devastating; sometimes it seems to take HOURS to recover from an evening nap.

YOU'RE ROLLIN' THE DICE.

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:05 (nineteen years ago)

Nope! It only takes until I wash face/put on make-up. Then I'm ready again.

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:06 (nineteen years ago)

i don't like short naps because as soon as you start really falling asleep you have to wake up again and it's painful. coffee was an excellent choice.

nazi bikini (harbl), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:07 (nineteen years ago)

will try face washing/ makeup next time.

mahalo 4 ur kokua (grady), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:09 (nineteen years ago)

yeah it really depends on how devestatingly tired you are, how many nights you've been going on less than 6 hrs sleep, how stressed you are, etc.
for a dinner party, i would def have chosen the coffee! (and then i would've been all wired up like the coke kids on degrassi the other night haha)

face washing with cold water works!

Disco naps, for me, are less about getting "quality sleep" and more about resting eyes in a dark room, getting off my feet and the pressure of a standing or desk-sitting day off my lower back, and clearing my mind as much as possible. Actually if the nap went for 40 mins or more I probably WOULD wake up really groggy! It's all about how far into yr individual sleep cycle you are, I'm convinced.

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:15 (nineteen years ago)

for me the difference is always whether or not the light is on in the room I am napping in. If it is off, I wake up feeling like shit.

Jessie the Monster (scarymonsterrr), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:16 (nineteen years ago)

goth

rrrobyn, breeze blown meadow of cheeriness (rrrobyn), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:17 (nineteen years ago)

the worst sleeps i ever get are when i fall asleep and accidently leave my bedside light on. blergh, it might as well be the sun.

rrrobyn, breeze blown meadow of cheeriness (rrrobyn), Thursday, 4 January 2007 23:18 (nineteen years ago)

the light thing is kinda true.

i always end up napping on my couch. bed naps are the real killers.

You just smile at me,
You're just on my knee,
Bring me coffee or tea,
Call me "pretty little bee".

Whisper in my ear, lad,
You're still my parent friend,
Throw me out of my bag,
Ask me "Are you dead?"

I feel pretty in the chimney, I feel,
I feel pretty in the chimney, I feel,
I feel pretty in the chimney, I feel,
You just smile at me,
You're just on my knee,
Bring me coffee or tea,
Call me "pretty little bee".

Whisper in my ear, lad,
You're still my parent friend,
Throw me out of my bag,
Ask me "Are you dead,
Dead, dead?"

You just smile at me,
You're just on my knee.

I feel pretty in the chimney, I feel,
I feel pretty in the chimney, I feel,
I feel pretty in the chimney, yes, I’m again,
Yes, I'm again, yes, I'm again,
Yes, I'm again, yes, I'm again,
Oh!

nye takes it toll... i was painfully tired this morning and i only went to band practice and then read until 1am. and then woke up stupidly early. then i had caffeine.
so answer is still coffee.

rrrobyn, breeze blown meadow of cheeriness (rrrobyn), Friday, 5 January 2007 00:12 (nineteen years ago)

good naps require nap training. i should practice more.

rrrobyn, breeze blown meadow of cheeriness (rrrobyn), Friday, 5 January 2007 00:13 (nineteen years ago)

I do this most Sundays: drink a lot of coffee then take a nap.

naps are good if you can drop off quickly and keep yrself from sleeping more than 10 minutes.

Joe Isuzu's Petals (Rock Hardy), Friday, 5 January 2007 15:03 (nineteen years ago)

new year's resolution waiting to happen for slocki and his digestive system

i got 9+ hrs of sleep last night!

rrrobyn, breeze blown meadow of cheeriness (rrrobyn), Friday, 5 January 2007 15:44 (nineteen years ago)

living mostly clean since nyd and getting about 8 hrs per night. still feeling less than human....

might take more than 4 days for my heart to return to normal size and lungs to start acting like normal adult sized ones...

that said...the answer is always nap, then quick coffee while you walk.

bb (bbrz), Friday, 5 January 2007 16:51 (nineteen years ago)
