KUROSAWA TNG: KYOSHI!!!!!

I saw Cure again the other night. So creepy and sad.

Bright Future was the most boring depressing film ever to come off as uplifting. The dude can block like no other.

Kiyoshi Kurosawa's films are all unlike any others I've seen

the ghost gliding across the room unnoticed in Seance was incredibly eerie

haven't seen Cure yet, but it is on the Criterion Channel

thought Bright Future was interesting but kind of inscrutable

next watch is Tokyo Sonata

Pulse was also really strange

Cure is awesome, a real reality-is-slipping disorienting vibe. Pulse as well. And Tokyo Sonata is a small, subtle, domestic drama. Incredibly prolific, very good at most things, brilliant at some. I wouldn't recommend Journey to the Shore though, it's pretty slight and oversentimental.
